Two things, first off I'll post the whole transcript of the chats that mentioned you if you want.
Second off, I don't expect you to suddenly be convinced just because I stopped arguing. I just wanted to voice my opinion, not convince anyone of it, so that's why I don't argue sometimes. Sometimes people do that. They call someone and talk to them just to get something off their chest, or they say their opinion on something, but don't really want to actually debate that opinion at all. It's called sharing and being open. No problem in you responding, but I just don't see any point in "resolving" something I never thought was an issue. I just think something you disagree with, let's leave it at that. No need to become one huge grey race.
Here's that transcript.

Dark Jaguar: hello
Dark Jaguar: well, OB1 seems to think that nightmare is "cheap" because he has trouble with it..., at least that's how I see his argument
Session Close (A Black Falcon): Wed Oct 22 17:18:14 2003
Session Start (

A Black Falcon: onoffonoffonoff...
Session Start (

Dark Jaguar: yeah
A Black Falcon: why?
Dark Jaguar: I'm trying to get yahoo's plugin to work, and you should talk!
A Black Falcon: huh?
A Black Falcon: uhh
A Black Falcon: yes, i agree ob1 is strange. :)
Dark Jaguar: With his logic, Prime's end boss was cheap.
Dark Jaguar: That too is hard to beat without loosing a life tank or too
Dark Jaguar: two
A Black Falcon: he states a positoon
A Black Falcon: position
A Black Falcon: then when threatened redefines the terms so he cannot be wrong...
Dark Jaguar: hmm...
A Black Falcon: or he does something, every time
A Black Falcon: okay... he found that guy really hard
A Black Falcon: but its odd... contradictory
Dark Jaguar: yeah...
Dark Jaguar: I mean, that boss IS hard, but not cheap
A Black Falcon: he acts like he's so good at the game and its so easy and ha ha you're so bad because you aren't as good at metroid
Dark Jaguar: Everything it does can be avoided, but it takes skill, and it isn't random type stuff
A Black Falcon: then says that that boss wasn't just hard but super cheap and is impossible to beat without being hurt a lot when i'm sure practice could do that?
Dark Jaguar: Plus, I think he misunderstood you talking about blocks and revealing them. No, shooting a block with your beam weapons won't reveal it.
Dark Jaguar: unless it can be destroyed WITH beams anyway :D
A Black Falcon: i know
A Black Falcon: he misunderstands me so often!
Dark Jaguar: Hey, the latest Trillian update finally supports MSN's pics :D Took them long enough
A Black Falcon: not as often as he does you though... :)
A Black Falcon: but enough to be annoying.
Dark Jaguar: yeah, but I think we have an understanding now. Generally, I avoid anything that could easily escalate with him.
A Black Falcon: i still don't get what he's talking about there...
A Black Falcon: lasers reveal stuff? huh?
A Black Falcon: they definitely do not!
Dark Jaguar: Samus' beams aren't lasers :D
Dark Jaguar: Small nitpick :D
A Black Falcon: same thing!
A Black Falcon: :)
Dark Jaguar: nope, a laser is a directed beam of light energy. Her beams aren't concentrated light.
A Black Falcon: basic gun. who cares what you call it... :)
Dark Jaguar: Some is a hot trail of plasma, some is a trail of heat absorbing freeziness, and her basic weapon, according to Prime, is an odd Chozo weapon that none have yet understood
Dark Jaguar: :D
A Black Falcon: then why is it so pathetically weak? :)
Dark Jaguar: Well, you two were nitpicking, so I joined in just now, and I SAID it was a small nitpick
Dark Jaguar: When it's charged it's not
A Black Falcon: true
A Black Falcon: but his 'positons' in this debate are so dumb
Dark Jaguar: yeah, another reason I didn't jump in
A Black Falcon: so i'm not that great at metroid.
A Black Falcon: no need to get so annoyed about it...
Dark Jaguar: Just know that I agree with you on the obvious stuff, though I disagree with you about a lot of it being hard to find.
Dark Jaguar: But
A Black Falcon: well you have more experience with metroid than i do, i'm sure
A Black Falcon: with experience comes being better at being able to spot the hidden stuff...
Dark Jaguar: You do acknowledge that you are new to it and of course that would mean you don't know what sorts of signs to look for.
Dark Jaguar: I know when I played Metroid 3, I had a hard time finding a lot of items and had to resort to, as you say, destroying every block in the game :D
Dark Jaguar: That would be my first Metroid game
A Black Falcon: ah.
A Black Falcon: using super bombs all over?
Dark Jaguar: Except when I played a friend's copy of M1 a while ago for all of 2 minutes :D
A Black Falcon: some design decisions they made are just there to annoy new players, itseems...
Dark Jaguar: heh :D
Dark Jaguar: Super bombs all over? Yeppers, I started doing that.
A Black Falcon: people who've been playing for a while already know where to look for hidden stuff so making it a bit more obvious wouldn't hurt. :)
Dark Jaguar: You may have noticed, as I did back then, that super bombs can reveal invisible passages due to a graphics engine glitch :D
A Black Falcon: don't think i did
A Black Falcon: do they in fusion?
Dark Jaguar: Even though I've played for a while when I started M4 it didn't all just jump out at me.
Dark Jaguar: It took some thinking, so no, I'd say making it more obvious would still hurt it for the experienced.
A Black Falcon: i just remember being so annoyed at being stuck in a few places before i found whatever stupid hidden path they want you to take
Dark Jaguar: OB1 has a knack for not just saying "I disagree" but rather "You are an idiot, and I am God, and everyone in the universe agrees with me"
A Black Falcon: yes, he does.
A Black Falcon: i mean... this isn't an objective arguement!
A Black Falcon: no two people have the exact same amount of skill at metroid. :)
A Black Falcon: oh yeah
A Black Falcon: and then afterwards he insults me for not making it clear that I mean "in my opinion"...
A Black Falcon: when his posts are several times more opinionated and insulting of the other opinion...
A Black Falcon: it just annoys me.
A Black Falcon: he says 'of course its opinion, believe whatever you want'
A Black Falcon: then when you try to state that belief insults you... and then says that you can believe it. Right.
Dark Jaguar: Yeah, but somehow I think he doesn't actually THINK all that. From what I understand, that's how he debates with his real world friends. It's "normal" for him.
A Black Falcon: ?
Dark Jaguar: I've seen other groups of friends who constantly run each other down like that as well, so I can see that being the case.
Dark Jaguar: They don't seem to take it seriously, and when they come across groups where such interactions are NOT the norm, they tend to get offended by it.
A Black Falcon: if he stated it differently it'd be so much better!
Dark Jaguar: Well, at any rate this sort of friendship is what OB1 has described to me
A Black Falcon: sure, i often leave out the 'in my opinion'...
Dark Jaguar: Which is no problem
Dark Jaguar: So does he
A Black Falcon: but he attacks me for that sometimes, while he is so much worse!
A Black Falcon: its hypocritical
A Black Falcon: and yes, "i am totally correct" is his standard "debating" position.
A Black Falcon: the difficulty of metroid...
A Black Falcon: sure, it'll take me way longer to beat prime than it will most people. But do most people finish the thing in 15 hours?
Dark Jaguar: ARound 15 to 20 I'd say
Dark Jaguar: But then again they take it all in one long go
A Black Falcon: true
Dark Jaguar: Most people don't kinda pop in every few weeks to look around. I imagine doing that makes you forget what you've done
A Black Falcon: yes, it does.
A Black Falcon: i'm sure that that makes it longer. :)
Dark Jaguar: Totally understandable.
A Black Falcon: also i'm scanning everything i can find...
Dark Jaguar: I know I've done that to some games as well
Dark Jaguar: Me too
A Black Falcon: not finding many missiles, though.
A Black Falcon: either they are hidden well or you don't get many until later...
Dark Jaguar: I love the scanning, even though it's not that big an interaction, it's strangely compelling
A Black Falcon: yeah
Dark Jaguar: Well, you aren't very far at all
A Black Falcon: i'd be farther if the lava area wasn't so hard to get through. :)
Dark Jaguar: Right, you JUST got the varia and are in the lava region aren't you?
A Black Falcon: no
A Black Falcon: i jsut got the boost ball
A Black Falcon: have to go back through the lava from the ice area
A Black Falcon: to that half-pipe way back...
Dark Jaguar: You using the hint system?
Dark Jaguar: I'll say this about that.
A Black Falcon: why is it so horrible?
Dark Jaguar: I was VERY angry to find out only AFTER beating the game that the hint system was actually that radar thing
A Black Falcon: all it does is give you a target room...
Dark Jaguar: Hey now!
Dark Jaguar: Don't get defensive
Dark Jaguar: I'm SAYING I myself used it the first time through, totally by accident.
A Black Falcon: you dislike it too though
Dark Jaguar: Wait a moment
Dark Jaguar: Hear me out
A Black Falcon: oh
A Black Falcon: and you'd have known that if you actually look around the menus. :)
Dark Jaguar: No, I looked all over
Dark Jaguar: I FOUND the hint option
A Black Falcon: but its there...
Dark Jaguar: I had no idea that's what it was
A Black Falcon: :)
Dark Jaguar: I thought it was the same thing as many other game's hint mode things
Dark Jaguar: You know, quick tips like the 'Craft games
A Black Falcon: so why is it so bad?
Dark Jaguar: I actually THOUGHT that it was in fact the instructions for using items that I'd get when I collected them
Dark Jaguar: And I NEVER SAID IT"S SO BAD!
Dark Jaguar: Let me talk
Dark Jaguar: that's OB1's words, not mine
A Black Falcon: but
Dark Jaguar: no buts
Dark Jaguar: Hear me out and THEN you may talk :D
A Black Falcon: you seem angry you didn't know how to turn it off.
Dark Jaguar: Of course, now let me get to that
A Black Falcon: what else should i think?
Dark Jaguar: Asking about it is wasted breath for I am ABOUT TO SAY ALL YOU WANT TO KNOW
Dark Jaguar: And I knew that I woudl before you asked
Dark Jaguar: Now then, as I said, I had no idea that's what it did. OF course it's obvious AFTER the fact but before?
Dark Jaguar: Laser Link made the same mistake actually.
A Black Falcon: huh
Dark Jaguar: Neither of us had any idea that the random scanning for things that occured now and again was actually the hint system.
Dark Jaguar: It was just called "hint mode" with no definition.
Dark Jaguar: I really wish they had at least defaulted it to off
A Black Falcon: but WHY
Dark Jaguar: Anyway, with that out of the way, the part about me hating how it wasn't obvious, lemme explain what I think of the system itself
Dark Jaguar: Which is SEPERATE
Dark Jaguar: As for the hint system itself, it didn't really give away all that much fortunatly (had it given away too many hints, I would be much more upset)
A Black Falcon: not really seperate
A Black Falcon: if you like it you don't mind if its a bit obtuse on how to turn it off, i'd expect
Dark Jaguar: Most of the time, it would just do something like tell me to go somewhere I was already heading or tell me what sort of power fluctuation it sensed up ahead
Dark Jaguar: I don't LIKE it
Dark Jaguar: I just don't hate it nearly as much as Ob1
A Black Falcon: true, you often do already have an idea of where to go...
Dark Jaguar: Because, as I said, it turned out not to really spoil much of anything
A Black Falcon: and i would say that it comes up too often.
A Black Falcon: it is annoying sometimes...
Dark Jaguar: I can't really think of any time it said to go somewhere I didn't think to go
Dark Jaguar: Not that often for me
A Black Falcon: especially like the tenth time it tells you to go to the same place
A Black Falcon: i KNOW already! :)
Dark Jaguar: In my game it didn't pop up very often at all
Dark Jaguar: Haha!
Dark Jaguar: Oh right, with the time you took
Dark Jaguar: I imagine it would pop up a lot more often :D
A Black Falcon: :)
Dark Jaguar: I'd have gone by many areas before the next hint appeared anyway
A Black Falcon: fusion is a lot easier...
Dark Jaguar: I imagine lots of hints were between them except I already went there beforehand
A Black Falcon: probably
A Black Falcon: its not that its super hard...
A Black Falcon: i just hit a frusterating part and quit for a long time.
A Black Falcon: mario sunshine is different...
Dark Jaguar: And they seem to appear not based on where you are in the game but based on some internal clock and it's set to hint at you after a certain amount of time
A Black Falcon: i haven't really played that one seriously in a long time
A Black Falcon: and zelda... well, i just got annoyed by the wind temple. :)
A Black Falcon: the main problem of course
Dark Jaguar: ah, I see
A Black Falcon: is i'm in the middle of way too many games all the time
Dark Jaguar: haha
Dark Jaguar: I've been there
A Black Falcon: i know i have many, many pc games i haven't finished and haven't played in months...
Dark Jaguar: :D
Dark Jaguar: Guess what I did?
Dark Jaguar: Guess guess!
A Black Falcon: what?
A Black Falcon: what what? :)
A Black Falcon: uhh
Dark Jaguar: I beat for the first time, Brood War, all by myself without the aid of cheats
A Black Falcon: got some pc game?
A Black Falcon: wow
A Black Falcon: great...
Dark Jaguar: I tell ya, the last level was tough
Dark Jaguar: I had to take out the UED first, because it was sending way too many air forces my way
A Black Falcon: like when i got f-zero and skies of arcadia...
Dark Jaguar: The whole time I had only just enough resources to do what I needed
A Black Falcon: f-zero is so amazing but i played more of skies
Dark Jaguar: indeed
Dark Jaguar: I need to play more Skies myself
A Black Falcon: which is why i still haven't beaten all the circuits on expert.
A Black Falcon: i've beaten the first 8 story missions but haven't got the points right now to unlock the last one...
Dark Jaguar: I can sense it's great, but I keep popping in and out of that game
A Black Falcon: but in skies, i have spent a quite large number of hours
A Black Falcon: like over fifty now
A Black Falcon: i'm pretty close to the end...
A Black Falcon: very good game
Dark Jaguar: hmm
A Black Falcon: the only problem is that the main game isn't very hard...
A Black Falcon: the only really hard missions are the bounties and the piastol fights
Dark Jaguar: Don't tell me that!
Dark Jaguar: I'm not very far in it!
A Black Falcon: i haven't said anything. :)
A Black Falcon: you can spend a lot of time if you want to find all the discoveries...
Dark Jaguar: I don't wanna know how hard it'll be.
A Black Falcon: i have not.
A Black Falcon: it'd just be too much wandering around fighting random battles. :)
A Black Falcon: some parts are hard. :)
A Black Falcon: its probably the best rpg on the cube...
A Black Falcon: so how hard was the last mission of BW?
A Black Falcon: brutal?
A Black Falcon: yesterday i played some more TFT...
A Black Falcon: beat like four missions no problem.
A Black Falcon: its pathetic...
A Black Falcon: i really wish it was harder. its just not as fun when its like that!
Dark Jaguar: Yes, the last mission was brutal, but I had all the time in the world fortunatly (after mission 9, it was nice to take some time)
A Black Falcon: :)
Dark Jaguar: Oh yes, in the Blood Elf campaign, did ya get the secret level?
A Black Falcon: uhh
A Black Falcon: if you ask probably not. :)
A Black Falcon: hmm
A Black Falcon: the only sidequest i didn't finish...
Dark Jaguar: Well, if you aren't sure, then you didn't
A Black Falcon: was the one where you needed the 10 parts of that orb
A Black Falcon: i only managed to find 8
A Black Falcon: secret level?
A Black Falcon: doubt it
Dark Jaguar: Are you at the undead campaign?
A Black Falcon: not yet
Dark Jaguar: Ah
Dark Jaguar: Well, you may not be where you can get it
A Black Falcon: how many per campaign?
Dark Jaguar: ONE secret level, per campaign? Well, I guess that would be 1/4
A Black Falcon: no
A Black Falcon: how many missions in each campaigh
A Black Falcon: n
Dark Jaguar: No set number
Dark Jaguar: It varies
A Black Falcon: huh
Dark Jaguar: undead has the most
Dark Jaguar: Broodwar-esque
A Black Falcon: i think i'm on NE 8... not sure, but i think so
Dark Jaguar: Night Elves eh?
Dark Jaguar: Okay then, nowhere near the secret level
Dark Jaguar: Let's just say "Baaa Ram Ewee"
A Black Falcon: sheep!
A Black Falcon: :)
A Black Falcon: then they blow up. :D
A Black Falcon: at least in war2...
A Black Falcon: can you make sheep explode in war3?
Dark Jaguar: Yes
Dark Jaguar: All critters can explode
Dark Jaguar: I wasn't aware they could detonate in WC2...
Dark Jaguar: I got them to say the annoyance phrase...
A Black Falcon: you need to click a LOT.
A Black Falcon: not sure if i've done it myself...
A Black Falcon: too many clicks. :)
Dark Jaguar: ah
Dark Jaguar: Not too much for them to go off like a nuclear explosion in WC3
Dark Jaguar: Just click repeatedly until boom
Dark Jaguar: It won't be that long
A Black Falcon: ok
A Black Falcon: i still think war2 was probably the funniest one...
Dark Jaguar: Wait
Dark Jaguar: I think I remember now
Dark Jaguar: I remember that I was trying to annoy everything
Dark Jaguar: And then I started with the critters
A Black Falcon: click on sheep like five hundred times. :)
Dark Jaguar: And got a sheep to say the baa ram ewe phrase
Dark Jaguar: Then I clicked over and over and over and over until BOOM
Dark Jaguar: Then I was just like....oops
Dark Jaguar: I mean it was like a frickin' scene from Family Guy
Dark Jaguar: I just kinda, scrolled back to teh base and said nothing
A Black Falcon: heh
Dark Jaguar: One moment, I have to restart
Session Close (A Black Falcon): Wed Oct 22 22:28:41 2003
Session Start (
[email protected]:A Black Falcon): Wed Oct 22 22:28:56 2003
Dark Jaguar: Well, that didn't work
Dark Jaguar: oh well
Dark Jaguar: Anyway, do you love turrets?
Dark Jaguar: If not, you better learn to love them for that secret level. I'll only add that it's the toughest one in Frozen Throne
A Black Falcon: well
A Black Falcon: it must be late in teh game then
A Black Falcon: oh...
A Black Falcon: will blizz ever give its characters a break?
Dark Jaguar: pardon?
A Black Falcon: every time they turn around something bad happens...
Dark Jaguar: haha
Dark Jaguar: Oh right
Dark Jaguar: And of course, Blizz gives a new meaning to "trust no one"
A Black Falcon: everyone is evil!
A Black Falcon: The Frozen Throne...
Dark Jaguar: Why, it won't be long before somneone betrays themself
A Black Falcon: is there ONE good character in the whole game?
Dark Jaguar: "I'm always one step ahead of me!"
A Black Falcon: i'm in the NE campaign but its already happened... :)
A Black Falcon: Maiev let Tyrande be swept down the river into that Undead base and presumably be killed or something...
Dark Jaguar: Well, I knew from teh start that Maiev was evil.
Dark Jaguar: Well, I knew that in the real world I'd consider her evil
A Black Falcon: evil...
A Black Falcon: sorta
A Black Falcon: treacherous? yeah
Dark Jaguar: I wondered if, as per usual in American stories, they would consider the dedicated do whatever it takes to get the job done thing the "good guy"
A Black Falcon: 'dedicated'? :)
Dark Jaguar: Too dedicated
A Black Falcon: yeah, dedicated
A Black Falcon: yes.
Dark Jaguar: Beyond dedicated
A Black Falcon: fanatical
Dark Jaguar: It's just wrong to abandon and betray everything for any goal
A Black Falcon: and when the opportunity to betray Tyrande presented itsself, she took it
Dark Jaguar: Think of the many elves under her command she dragged into her quest
A Black Falcon: the Blood Elves.
A Black Falcon: pleasant folk
A Black Falcon: not too far into their story yet...
A Black Falcon: but I can SO see the 'go to evil demonic magics' stuff coming
Dark Jaguar: FINALLY!
Dark Jaguar: I guess yahoo changed some things
Dark Jaguar: Now to log in using Trillian I first have to log in on some Yahoo thing, like yahoo mail
Dark Jaguar: Kinda annoying, but hey I need to check my maila LOT more often anywqay
A Black Falcon: :)
Dark Jaguar: Heh
Dark Jaguar: You know it
A Black Falcon: yes.
Dark Jaguar: I almost told you already anyway
A Black Falcon: i mean, couldn't they at least try to be subtle?
A Black Falcon: but no
Dark Jaguar: heh
A Black Falcon: they call themselves blood
Dark Jaguar: Forshadowing is for the weak
A Black Falcon: they wear red
A Black Falcon: magic has been greatly weakened, and the High Elves are completely reliant on it
A Black Falcon: and their people are dead making them lose much of their sense of reason.
Dark Jaguar: Well, only the sun well was fully weakened
A Black Falcon: thus, perfect demon-fodder
Dark Jaguar: Their source of magic
A Black Falcon: yeah. their source of magic weakened.
Dark Jaguar: Well, destroyed outright actually
A Black Falcon: true...
Dark Jaguar: I'm surprised they managed to have enough magic to last as far as they did before getting their new source
A Black Falcon: some shreds of their magic remain but its fading
A Black Falcon: demons make tempting offer...
Dark Jaguar: BRB
A Black Falcon: demons also hate undead.
A Black Falcon: Illidan... trying to destroy the undead... which would be good if not for the fact that it'd then let the demons in again i expect

Dark Jaguar: indeed
A Black Falcon: win me is so evil
Dark Jaguar: It just tries to do things that it's basic design isn't meant to do
Dark Jaguar: And it eliminated too much of what it was based on, DOS
A Black Falcon: it is garbage.
Dark Jaguar: They would have been better off just not releasing it.
A Black Falcon: worst os made in many years
Dark Jaguar: I kept 98SE anyway
A Black Falcon: its better
Dark Jaguar: Yeah
A Black Falcon: xp...
Dark Jaguar: I just replaced some 98 files with some ME files and it's the best hybrid
A Black Falcon: in some ways it is better
A Black Falcon: like not crashing constantly
Dark Jaguar: For instance, ME DOES have better disk scanning and defrag, so I just replaced the appropriate files
A Black Falcon: i just like having game compatibility...
Dark Jaguar: yeah
A Black Falcon: not just dos either
Dark Jaguar: That's why I have the duel boot with XP and 98SE
A Black Falcon: xp doesn't work with some windows games...
Dark Jaguar: Generally, the main problem with some old windows games is if they aren't designed to be true full screen
Dark Jaguar: At least for me
A Black Falcon: i honestly don't want a newer sound card
Dark Jaguar: Don't eh?
Dark Jaguar: I bet I know why too
A Black Falcon: any newer... and there probably won't be dos-emulation drivers for it!
Dark Jaguar: It's because all the new sound cards have poor DOS mode support right?
A Black Falcon: yes.
Dark Jaguar: Oh they still have them
A Black Falcon: emulated
A Black Falcon: in the hardware
Dark Jaguar: But it's all SB16 mode
Dark Jaguar: Very annoying
A Black Falcon: my soundcard looks like a standard soundblaster 16 to dos games. :)
A Black Falcon: hmm
A Black Falcon: it can also do roland i think
Dark Jaguar: Since before I upgraded I had SBAWE32
Dark Jaguar: Which kinda blew the SB16 out of the water
A Black Falcon: true
Dark Jaguar: What with the instruments sounding like ACTUAL INSTRUMENTS
A Black Falcon: but sb16 emulation is better than the alternative...
Dark Jaguar: Yeah, the speaker
Dark Jaguar: :D
A Black Falcon: roland sound system is better quality
A Black Falcon: i know, there's a XP app to make dos games have sound (VDMSound)
A Black Falcon: but its not as good as the real thing, for sure!
Dark Jaguar: Anyway, it would have been nice if the DOS drivers would emulate AWE64, the last true DOS card
A Black Falcon: and i somehow doubt that many at all of my dos games would even RUN in winxp, much less run fine from windows with full sound.
Dark Jaguar: haha
Dark Jaguar: That's true enough
Dark Jaguar: That's exactly why I HAVE 98
Dark Jaguar: SE
A Black Falcon: look at Duke Nukem 3d.
Dark Jaguar: ME did the worst thing, removing DOS support like that!
Dark Jaguar: Sure, there's work arounds, but that's annoying
A Black Falcon: in xp, people have managed to mess around enough to get the thing to run
A Black Falcon: but still... no way ot get sound
Dark Jaguar: yep
A Black Falcon: i'd miss teh dos support more if i had lots of dos games that don't run through windows just as well as they would in pure dos...
A Black Falcon: but honestly, most of my dos games work fine
Dark Jaguar: yeah
Dark Jaguar: IT's just nice to be able to get to true dos
Dark Jaguar: Plus, since the DOS stuff doesn't automatically load during ME, the DOS shell under ME is worse than the DOS shell in 98
A Black Falcon: true
Dark Jaguar: I had DOS games crash a lot more in ME than in 98
A Black Falcon: i do have a boot-disc that loads dos
A Black Falcon: /...
Dark Jaguar: Yeah
Dark Jaguar: But that's just annoying right there :D
A Black Falcon: it just doesn't have sound. or the cd (er, dvd). or the zip disc drive.
Dark Jaguar: And why go through all that work to get ME to kinda work when 98 is right there?
A Black Falcon: i've tried many times to get sound in dos mode...
A Black Falcon: everything i could think of
Dark Jaguar: Oh right, you need to get a batch file to load up the correct drivers
A Black Falcon: couldn't get it to work
Dark Jaguar: Windows normally handles this
A Black Falcon: right
Dark Jaguar: But if you are in true dos, time to do it yourself
Dark Jaguar: I have a batch file somewhere, but I rarely ever go into true DOS unless I'm doing something other than gaming
A Black Falcon: remember your friends autoexec.bat and command.com?
Dark Jaguar: XP is what MS should have done from the START
Dark Jaguar: heh
Dark Jaguar: of course
A Black Falcon: i tried to find a dos-sound driver and get it to work
A Black Falcon: it either doesn't work at all or has memory (emm386) errors and won't. oh well
Dark Jaguar: After waiting so long to release a very nice OS like XP, they create all sorts of problems, mainly for us gamers :D
A Black Falcon: XP...
Dark Jaguar: I'll say this though
Dark Jaguar: Get PRO!
A Black Falcon: is NT with more compatibility
Dark Jaguar: yep
Dark Jaguar: And NT is the good windows :D
A Black Falcon: but i'd never install it without a version of older windows too
Dark Jaguar: Home edition seems to be flawed
A Black Falcon: i have heard more than enough about older game compatibility. :)
A Black Falcon: flawed?
Dark Jaguar: It all comes down to it's repeated checks to make sure you aren't pirating it or whatever.
Dark Jaguar: Doing that kinda makes it crash more often than it should (read: at all)
A Black Falcon: huh
A Black Falcon: crashing?
Dark Jaguar: Fortunatly, the check-less Pro version doesn't have these problems
A Black Falcon: given that i use me...
A Black Falcon: i know something about crashing. :D
Dark Jaguar: Even Pro has ONE check it does, to make sure you didn't copy the system to a new HD (which I did a while back after buying a new one). However, that's easy to work around by deleting the file that identifies the specific disk it should run on :D.
A Black Falcon: it is seriously the most crash prone thing i've ever used
Dark Jaguar: indeed
Dark Jaguar: ME was just NUTS
A Black Falcon: windows 3.0 was more stable! :D
Dark Jaguar: The only good thing ME ever did was introduce the system restore feature, but it even screwed that up
Dark Jaguar: heh
A Black Falcon: i have that set to minimum because the two or three times i tried to use it it didn't work
A Black Falcon: so its like 5mb or something
Dark Jaguar: windows 3.11, I enjoyed that little thing only because it looks nifty keen, plus I felt so special because my dad let me actually use it (I had to to play the windows-exclusive games he just bought, like King's Quest 7)
A Black Falcon: i tried to disable it... but it keeps re-activating itsself.
A Black Falcon: i had 3.0 before 3.11
Dark Jaguar: We had 3.1 before 3.11, and my dad kept switching back between the two because of one little feature that was dropped in 3.11
A Black Falcon: hmm was it 3.0 or 3.1...
Dark Jaguar: He ended up messing with some files and got 3.11 with that feature added, JUST before his company started beta testing Win98. So, we got the "July Alpha build" of Win95
A Black Falcon: think it was 3.0, not sure
Dark Jaguar: Yes, it wasn't that stable :D
A Black Falcon: full-screen windows logo, not that vertical bar one in 3.11
A Black Falcon: and reversi and solitare as teh games, not minesweeper
Dark Jaguar: ah
A Black Falcon: and hearts and solitare
A Black Falcon: yep, reversi.
Dark Jaguar: As time went on, we got the "augest Beta" of it
Dark Jaguar: Then eventually, the full version
Dark Jaguar: And guess what?
Dark Jaguar: When you install a beta over an alpha, and then the final over the beta, you can create problems :D
A Black Falcon: we got win95...
A Black Falcon: win95 OSR2 that is. In summer '97.
Dark Jaguar: Especially if the os wasn't all that good to start with :D
A Black Falcon: we got win3.11 in Jan. '95. :)
Dark Jaguar: heh
A Black Falcon: didn't get win98 until 2000...
Dark Jaguar: Anyway, so 95 final ended up crashing EVERY TIME IT STARTED, but in a fortunatly merciful way. During startup, I got use to pressing enter to get past the "usual" blue screen
A Black Falcon: then i got my comp with ME in fall '01.
Dark Jaguar: Eventually, the whole OS was taken down and reintstalled
A Black Falcon: just before XP came out, i think...
A Black Falcon: few months later and i might have had xp i bet
Dark Jaguar: One thing about Win95, that system was one you reinstalled more than any other
A Black Falcon: win 95...
A Black Falcon: our computer with that worked great for years
A Black Falcon: it broke down three or four years after we got it...
A Black Falcon: but we wiped the c drive, messed around, and got the thing running with a fresh install of win98. :)
A Black Falcon: it still works.
A Black Falcon: well, actually...
A Black Falcon: even our win 3.11 p90 (now also running win98) crashes less than my comp... :S
A Black Falcon: i bet
Dark Jaguar: Win smily?
A Black Falcon: ?
A Black Falcon: its : S
Dark Jaguar: Guess that's just trillian
Dark Jaguar: Oh well, I get it now
A Black Falcon: unsure/bad...
Dark Jaguar: Not that one
Dark Jaguar: The one you apparently can't see
A Black Falcon: its similar to : S at TC...
Dark Jaguar: now also running win9, and then a smily
A Black Falcon: huh?
A Black Falcon: that was 8 )
Dark Jaguar: that's what I see
Dark Jaguar: ah
Dark Jaguar: When you put them together with no space, it's a smily in Trill here
Dark Jaguar: I suppose I could disable it
Dark Jaguar: One thing they should add to trillian is the ability to host converstions between different clients
A Black Falcon: ?
Dark Jaguar: It would work like if someone talked in AIM, the person in MSN would see "Dark Jaguar: Tunneling AIM Person: message"
Dark Jaguar: And visa versa, if I was the one hosting the connection
Dark Jaguar: Then trillian would be truly a single messeging solution
A Black Falcon: ah
A Black Falcon: that would be cool...
A Black Falcon: but could be tough to make. :)
A Black Falcon: so... what could blizz do? i mean, I don't dislike dark stories...
A Black Falcon: but they're really starting to repeat themselves and get predictable
A Black Falcon: hey
Dark Jaguar: Well, it's HOW they do the stories
Dark Jaguar: Tough to do? Not particularly. Using it might be confusing unless done well. One person would have to designate themselves as the "host" and everyone would have to come to that person.
A Black Falcon: but can't you just be on in all the services in trillian?
A Black Falcon: since the various ones aren't made to talk to eachother, how would you manage it?
Dark Jaguar: I just told you how I would manage it
Dark Jaguar: Essentially, when I recieved a message from the person using AIM, the program would immediatly send it to the user in MSN
Dark Jaguar: Of course, it would have to send it using my name
Dark Jaguar: So that's why the format would look like what I posted above
Dark Jaguar: To MSN, it would just be a message from me
A Black Falcon: then maybe they'll do it?
A Black Falcon: :)
Dark Jaguar: Exactly
Dark Jaguar: From what I understand, they are planning something like that
Dark Jaguar: At the very least, someone will make a plugin for that
Dark Jaguar: Trillian is nice enough to allow plugins
A Black Falcon: cool
Dark Jaguar: well, "allow" isn't correct, more like 'is designed to support them"
Dark Jaguar: Allow suggests the company has no part in it
A Black Falcon: well yeah...
Dark Jaguar: Yeha, you know what I mean
A Black Falcon: plugins are good
Dark Jaguar: indeed
A Black Falcon: adds lots of expandability
Dark Jaguar: One thing though
A Black Falcon: like winamp. :)
Dark Jaguar: Does Netscape allow you to easily turn on and turn off plugins?
A Black Falcon: huh?
A Black Falcon: why would i want to disable them?
A Black Falcon: no idea
Dark Jaguar: In case one was annoying you, or you didn't want it to install
A Black Falcon: never thought of that
Dark Jaguar: Perhaps you would rather have Netscape itself handle embeded midi files
A Black Falcon: oh
A Black Falcon: wait...
Dark Jaguar: As opposed to Quicktime or something
A Black Falcon: music on web-pages.
A Black Falcon: for some reason in ns for me they don't play...
Dark Jaguar: ah
A Black Falcon: i know NS can...
A Black Falcon: something broke it and i haven't bothered to fix it
Dark Jaguar: Anyway, IE, as of yet, I haven't been able to find a way to easily access some page full of plugings and just disable or reassigne them.
Dark Jaguar: Kinda annoying
A Black Falcon: i don't think you can disable plugins easily...
A Black Falcon: just look at a list ofwhich you have installed
Dark Jaguar: The thing about plugins for winamp, trillian, and so on is they are designed so you can easily enable and disable them
Dark Jaguar: Yeah...
Dark Jaguar: That's what I remember
Dark Jaguar: I just wasnt' sure if Netscape had updated it to be more than just a list
A Black Falcon: uhh
A Black Falcon: it lists whether they are enabled or not...
A Black Falcon: but i don't know how to disable them. :)
Dark Jaguar: annoying isn't it?
A Black Falcon: i guess, if i wanted to disable one...
A Black Falcon: though
A Black Falcon: you could go find the files and delete them. :)
A Black Falcon: it lists filenames
Dark Jaguar: yeah :D
Dark Jaguar: Regediting
A Black Falcon: uh
A Black Falcon: wouldn'
Dark Jaguar: wouldn't what?
A Black Falcon: wouldn't just deleting them in windows work?
Dark Jaguar: Well, the registry key is still there
Dark Jaguar: The worst thing about just deleting stuff that you actually installed is your system will still LOOK for it
Dark Jaguar: Over time this can slow you down
Dark Jaguar: That's why a true uninstall is best
A Black Falcon: ah
Dark Jaguar: If you don't have that, then finding all the registry keys is reccommended
Dark Jaguar: But hard
A Black Falcon: true
A Black Falcon: programs put keys in like five places...
A Black Falcon: or can
Dark Jaguar: more actually
Dark Jaguar: Programs put keys wherever they are programmed to put them
A Black Falcon: yeah
Dark Jaguar: Some will place no keys at all
Dark Jaguar: *rare*
A Black Falcon: emulators.
Dark Jaguar: Most media players these days saturate your registry with themselves autoloaded int he background ALL THE TIME and at the same time installing other stuff you dont' want..
A Black Falcon: virtually none have any registry keys
Dark Jaguar: It's enough to make me want to kill all humans
A Black Falcon: most you just have to unzip and use, not install...
A Black Falcon: games...
A Black Falcon: two or three places, i think
A Black Falcon: more depending on the game i'm sure though...
Dark Jaguar: I am wondering about something Super Mario Bros 3 related...
Dark Jaguar: I think I already know the answer though...
A Black Falcon: ?
Dark Jaguar: I do believe multiplayer was removed, replaced with the ability to select between Mario and Luigi before each level
A Black Falcon: yes, the old multiplayer mode is gone
Dark Jaguar: Sadly, this means that the ability for two players to challenge each other over cards and other prizes between levels (something that would have an actuall effect in-game), is gone
Dark Jaguar: I loved doing that with my sibs
A Black Falcon: as is the game's version of Mario Bros... its just got the same thing as the other three games
Dark Jaguar: I know!
Dark Jaguar: It's different
Dark Jaguar: And the Mario Bros. Classic they always include uses Mario Bros. 2 physics for some reason
Dark Jaguar: (you can even power jump)
A Black Falcon: it has 'mario and luigi' mode where you can switch between them or something
A Black Falcon: and luigi is different from mario like all these games
Dark Jaguar: yep
Dark Jaguar: Which is nice
Dark Jaguar: but still
Dark Jaguar: IT was always fun to be moving along, see the other player has that last star card you need, and decide "eh, I'll take it"
Dark Jaguar: And those levels, while ONE was classic Mario Bros, the rest were new
Dark Jaguar: Like the one where you ran around a pipe spewing fire
Dark Jaguar: Mario Bros 3 just seemed so "gigantor"
Dark Jaguar: And a part of that was playing that massive adventure with a friend you could play against sometimes
A Black Falcon: SMB3... funny that its still the best selling game ever
Dark Jaguar: still?
A Black Falcon: yeah
Dark Jaguar: I think others have beaten it many times over by now
A Black Falcon: 17 million!
Dark Jaguar: Hmm, now I don't know what to believe, so I don't believe this either
Dark Jaguar: I know sometimes "best selling ever" figures are held onto long after actually BEING beaten
Dark Jaguar: For instance, some still think ET is the best grossing film ever, even after multiple films have trounced it
A Black Falcon: has one sold more?
Dark Jaguar: I'm not even sure 17 mil is accurate
Dark Jaguar: But I had read when FF7 came out that it beat SMB3
Dark Jaguar: By lower numbers mind you, which is why the 17 mil comes under question
Dark Jaguar: Oh well, no matter
Dark Jaguar: It's certainly ONE of the best selling ever, and that's whta matters
A Black Falcon: its what i've seen used as the number recently...
Dark Jaguar: I'd always heard closer to 4 or 5 mil
Dark Jaguar: OF course, that's likely to increase as time goes by :D
A Black Falcon: worldwide!
Dark Jaguar: eh
Dark Jaguar: Anyway, no need to debate something we can't possibly have accurate data on
Dark Jaguar: But yes, that was a huge title
Dark Jaguar: That move "the Wizard" really pushed it, the first video game advertisement movie.
Dark Jaguar: The whole point of that movie seemed to be to advertise Nintendo games, and finish it off with a preview of SMB3
Dark Jaguar: Sold me :D
Dark Jaguar: But I think the lack of anything OTHER than Nintendo games should have been a big clue
Dark Jaguar: Even the ARCADE GAMES were all just Nintendo games, Nintendo games taht were NEVER IN ARCADES at that !
A Black Falcon: hey
A Black Falcon: have there been any other videogame movies that were ads for an upcoming game? :)
Dark Jaguar: Gee, I wonder...
Dark Jaguar: Upcoming?
Dark Jaguar: Not sure
A Black Falcon: yeah.
Dark Jaguar: Existing?
Dark Jaguar: Yes!
Dark Jaguar: Pokemon, the movie SERIES
A Black Falcon: that's what The Wizard was
Dark Jaguar: Duh, I JUST SAID THAT
A Black Falcon: how so?
Dark Jaguar: MAybe if you READ what I type, you wil see "how so"
A Black Falcon: i haven't seen any pokemon movies. :)
Dark Jaguar: Their very existance was an advertisement of sorts :D
Dark Jaguar: The Wizard, that autistic kid had to get to california didn't he?
A Black Falcon: he wouldn't speak
A Black Falcon: his parents had died or something...
Dark Jaguar: Anyway, now I just laugh at what happened there
A Black Falcon: he just played videogames. :)
Dark Jaguar: I mean, the first Ninja Turtles game in an arcade machine
Dark Jaguar: And then that one "punker" or whatever with the power glove :D
A Black Falcon: and at the end... SMB3. Wow!
Dark Jaguar: Well, SMB3 did look awesome first time I saw it
Dark Jaguar: I was all like "Mario's flying? As a raccoon? It makes perfect sense!"
Dark Jaguar: They never really stated what mechanism they were using to score the players though. IT all seemed forced :D
Dark Jaguar: Remember the Super Mario Bros 3 commercial?
A Black Falcon: no
Dark Jaguar: It was like the world was coming to an end, or uniting, or something, under Mario
Dark Jaguar: HAha, it was cool
A Black Falcon: not sure if i've seen it
Dark Jaguar: It showed a whole lot of people holding candles and wearing shirts gathered together saying "Mario, Mario, Mario"
Dark Jaguar: And then it zoomed out, and zoomed out some more.
Dark Jaguar: Until you started seeing Mario's face formed from their shirts
A Black Falcon: hey
Dark Jaguar: And then it zoomed out to show a view of hte planet, and you saw Mario's face as a big continent of sorts, while hearing the shouting from everyone in the world or soemthing
A Black Falcon: huh
Dark Jaguar: Rather impressive to most kids, who thought they actually GOT all those people to stand in one place and form a group that could be seen from space :D
A Black Falcon: hey
Dark Jaguar: You already said that
A Black Falcon: 1999 Guinness Book of Records said that SMB3 is #1 at 18 million
Dark Jaguar: Really? You have it?
Dark Jaguar: I'll say this, the book of records really annoys me
A Black Falcon: no, but it says so on a bunch of websites. :)
Dark Jaguar: They claimed that the Simpsons was the longest running animated series in the world some time ago, when I knew of at least 2 anime series in Japan that had beaten it
A Black Falcon: and yes i would say its kind of a dumb book
A Black Falcon: more than 14 years? :)
Dark Jaguar: No, as in most episodes
A Black Falcon: huh
A Black Falcon: uh
Dark Jaguar: if it's purely time, then it looses to everything on Nick at Night :D
A Black Falcon: uh
A Black Falcon: no those aren't still new i think... :)
Dark Jaguar: that wasn't the category you were talking about
Dark Jaguar: And besides, I'm talking about what they ACTUALLY used to determine it
A Black Falcon: well
Dark Jaguar: They said no other animated series had reached 200 episodes (where it was at at the time)
A Black Falcon: there's a anime series that long?
Dark Jaguar: But Dragon Ball Z, for instance, already had almost 300
Dark Jaguar: Not talking quality here, so don't start that up
A Black Falcon: but anime... its tricky, since they often have so many spinoffs and sequels to serieses
Dark Jaguar: Just pointing out that Guiness didn't do much research
Dark Jaguar: No, this was ONE series, DBZ
Dark Jaguar: I'm not including Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball GT
Dark Jaguar: Or the movies
Dark Jaguar: Easy to see how it went that far, what with all the training episodes and how long those battles would drag on;
Dark Jaguar: And the filler episodes where they had to wait until the maker got done writing the comics (they made the series while teh comic was being made, and ended up having to make a whole saga as filler)
A Black Falcon: 300???
Dark Jaguar: ALMOST 300
A Black Falcon: insane
Dark Jaguar: I think like 280 or so
A Black Falcon: its so bad...
Dark Jaguar: haha
Dark Jaguar: Anyway
Dark Jaguar: my point has nothing to do with quality
A Black Falcon: 300 episodes of garbage. :)
Dark Jaguar: It's that Guiness didn't check out Japan
A Black Falcon: ah
Dark Jaguar: They are the American record checkers, not the World record checkers
Dark Jaguar: They DO find people outside America often enough
A Black Falcon: how long ago was that though...
Dark Jaguar: Some time ago, but my point remains
A Black Falcon: i'd think simpsons is well over 200 now...
Dark Jaguar: They claimed it at that time
Dark Jaguar: They passed 300 by now
Dark Jaguar: So they finally beat DBZ
A Black Falcon: (Link: http://www.gamecubicle.com/features-mario-units_sold_sales.htm)http://www.gamecubicle.com/features-mario-units_sold_sales.htm
Dark Jaguar: The point is that at the time it had less.
A Black Falcon: SMB is the best selling game ever, at 40 million units...
A Black Falcon: since everyone with a nes got one. :)
Dark Jaguar: indeed
Dark Jaguar: Not everyone though
Dark Jaguar: They had the "basic" unit
Dark Jaguar: And the Famicom didn't have a pack in game
Dark Jaguar: No Japanese system has ever had a pack in game
A Black Falcon: really?
Dark Jaguar: that's right
A Black Falcon: hmm
Dark Jaguar: Pack ins were innovated by NOA as an attempt to boost sales
Dark Jaguar: And Nintendo of Japan, as well as others, found the systems sold plenty well enough without having to offer deals like that
A Black Falcon: the NES had great packins...
Dark Jaguar: Remember, at the time the US and Japanese sides were pretty "seperate"
Dark Jaguar: YEah, it had Mario Bros, m
A Black Falcon: two or three games and all kinds of accessories
Dark Jaguar: Mario duck hunt
Dark Jaguar: Mario/Duck Hunt/that running game
Dark Jaguar: And Mario/Duck Hunt/ That running game/ Gyromite
Dark Jaguar: The last one having ALL the add-ons in the box
Dark Jaguar: As a kid, low to the ground, that's the one I'd see in stores, on the bottom shelf
Dark Jaguar: HUGE box
A Black Falcon: Track and Field
Dark Jaguar: that's right, Track and Field
Dark Jaguar: Anyway, I gotta go now. I'll be back in like an hour or so though
A Black Falcon: ok
Dark Jaguar: chao

A Black Falcon: hello?
A Black Falcon: i was out. :)
Dark Jaguar: j0
A Black Falcon: you see his main arguement there?
A Black Falcon: since he cannot beat nightmare easily without losing more than 1 health tank its cheap.
Dark Jaguar: I know, it's just weird
Dark Jaguar: He must be able to handle Prime's end boss a lot better than I
Dark Jaguar: Because he didn't call THAT cheap, and I always loose roughly half my health fighting that thing.
Dark Jaguar: At least I know I'm better at Nightmare than he is, though he's better at Prime's end boss.
Dark Jaguar: I mean, he totally ignored the strategy I posted.
Dark Jaguar: It's easy enough to beat that thing without taking all that much damage, just like the rest (well, not just like the rest, he IS harder than the rest, even the last boss).
A Black Falcon: he is unpredictable...
Dark Jaguar: Oh right, X have no gender.
Dark Jaguar: Anyway
A Black Falcon: his own experiences are not factual truths of difficulty!
Dark Jaguar: His pattern of movement I find is completely dependent on your own.
Dark Jaguar: Thus, you yourself control how hard it is to avoid him
A Black Falcon: the LAST last boss is easy!
Dark Jaguar: Not a bit of randomness
A Black Falcon: beat it on my third try
Dark Jaguar: Yeah
Dark Jaguar: That's expected
A Black Falcon: now the SA-X...
A Black Falcon: that was a pain.
Dark Jaguar: It IS just one other Omega Metroid after all
Dark Jaguar: I mean, I fought MULTIPLE omega metroids in Return of Samus
A Black Falcon: the SA-X was hard
A Black Falcon: then that beast thing after it was quite easy
Dark Jaguar: Yeah
A Black Falcon: then the X blob was the hardest one of those
Dark Jaguar: Yeah, but that's not saying much
Dark Jaguar: Just jump right after firing the missle
A Black Falcon: i got on the bottom and just fired missiles upwards until it died. :D
A Black Falcon: killed me at least twice before i beat it...
Dark Jaguar: ah, sucks to die to something easier than the boss you just beat
Dark Jaguar: But that's how it happened sometimes in Fusion
Dark Jaguar: I must say, when that first blob that fired when you fired did it's thing, my health was nearly gone and I didn't see it coming
A Black Falcon: you have to hit it right in the eye i think
Dark Jaguar: Well yeah
A Black Falcon: if you aren't prepared they can kill you easy...
A Black Falcon: especially since you often have very low health
A Black Falcon: well yeah? why?
Dark Jaguar: Well, it was only the first one that actually shot at me that caught me off guard
A Black Falcon: hey
A Black Falcon: did fusion have any metroids in it?
Dark Jaguar: I mean of course you have to hit it in the eye, as in, it's obvious
Dark Jaguar: Yes
Dark Jaguar: They were ALL OVER
A Black Falcon: oh
A Black Falcon: that hidden lab
A Black Falcon: ?
Dark Jaguar: SA-X was murdering them, for they were the natural predators of it
Dark Jaguar: And then the Omega Metroid at the end, the final stage of it's evolution
A Black Falcon: all the enemies were X...
Dark Jaguar: Um, yes
Dark Jaguar: Sorta
Dark Jaguar: X/whatever it possessed
Dark Jaguar: And a few creatures were not quite taken over yet
A Black Falcon: hmm
Dark Jaguar: IF what you meant was "do you fight any Metroids?"
Dark Jaguar: Then, yes, the last boss
A Black Falcon: i mean Metroids. :)
A Black Falcon: i guess that's a metroid
Dark Jaguar: Guess?
Dark Jaguar: Of course it's a metroid!
A Black Falcon: it was a really pathetic last boss
Dark Jaguar: IT's ALL Metroid!
A Black Falcon: well how would i know that from in the game?
A Black Falcon: it doesn't tell you
Dark Jaguar: Not a bit of X in it, because MEtroids EAT X!
A Black Falcon: doesn't X eat Metroid too?
Dark Jaguar: Oh come now, it was too much to have you fight something TOO Much harder
A Black Falcon: well
A Black Falcon: true
A Black Falcon: if you'd been able to save before it...
Dark Jaguar: At the end of Metroid 3, the final stage of Mother Brain after getting the final weapon was really easy too
A Black Falcon: but you can't, you ahve to fight all four bosses without saving
Dark Jaguar: Then it would have been harder
Dark Jaguar: Anyway
Dark Jaguar: The game does tell you
Dark Jaguar: In the ending cinema
Dark Jaguar: She says "after beating the Omega Metroid"
Dark Jaguar: On planet SR-388, the MEtroids have many stages
A Black Falcon: oh right
Dark Jaguar: The jellyfish with fangs is the normal stage
A Black Falcon: yeah
Dark Jaguar: Then there are many evolutions
Dark Jaguar: Alpha has it develop a tough skin
Dark Jaguar: Then it goes on, until it develops a sort of predator body around the central jellyfishy part
A Black Falcon: i haven't gotten to metroids yet in prime...
Dark Jaguar: That central part is the only weak point, but it's also it's power source
Dark Jaguar: You won't until the labs
Dark Jaguar: The pirates managed to evolve it in a different direction, instead of "alpha", it goes "hunter", a different stage where it gets elongated and has a projected energy "tentacle" of sorts
Dark Jaguar: It's cool
Dark Jaguar: You see, Metroids are VERY responsive to radiation, as is revealed in M2
Dark Jaguar: All a part of them being designed by the Chozo
Dark Jaguar: Oh yes, the ultimate stage past Omega is Queen
Dark Jaguar: On SR-388 anyway (as you can imagine, it's a planet that has very high radiation)
A Black Falcon: yeah
Dark Jaguar: Poor Chozo, sensing the very Zerg-like danger of the X, they created a life form to destroy them all, but ended up creating a new threat.
Dark Jaguar: Which ended up destroying Tallon IV in the end
A Black Falcon: and them...
Dark Jaguar: And of course, the galactic federation or whatever they are called seems to have some very UED conspiracies going on
Dark Jaguar: Then the pirates, who are, well, pirates
A Black Falcon: it seems a extremely corrupt government. :)
Dark Jaguar: indeed
Dark Jaguar: And Samus seems involved in all these groups
Dark Jaguar: She was raised by the Chozo, worked for the Federation, and scarred by the pirates
Dark Jaguar: And then she went freelance before Metroid 1, but she seems kinda dragged back in for Metroid 4.
A Black Falcon: i mean...
A Black Falcon: major galactic government can't surpress a few pirates? :)
Dark Jaguar: Hopefully, she'll manage to get a ship that WON'T self destruct if she goes AWOL so she can be on her own again :D
Dark Jaguar: It's not "a few" :D
Dark Jaguar: The so called pirates are actually an entire race
A Black Falcon: and so many hidden projects and stuff.
A Black Falcon: call them something more appropriate then!
Dark Jaguar: It's all very confusing, what with the science labs and the aliens and the lies upon liies
Dark Jaguar: IF they did that, then the people in the federation might panic
Dark Jaguar: Best to make it seem like something "minor" :D
Dark Jaguar: Besides, all their operations are pirate-like
Dark Jaguar: They basically just do raids
Dark Jaguar: Their end goals are the major concern
Dark Jaguar: Which is using the raided tech to build an unstoppable army and rule all the galaxy yadda yadda
Dark Jaguar: Then comes Samus, the girl with the Chozo suit, and she spanks them
A Black Falcon: have i mentioned that my computer must die? :)
Dark Jaguar: not lately, why?
A Black Falcon: it messes up all the time!
A Black Falcon: oh, did you say anything in the last few minuites?
Dark Jaguar: yes
Dark Jaguar: But oddly enough I didn't get any "this message can't be delivered" messages
Dark Jaguar: It's all very confusing, what with the science labs and the aliens and the lies upon liiesDark Jaguar: IF they did that, then the people in the federation might panicDark Jaguar: Best to make it seem like something "minor" :DDark Jaguar: Besides, all their operations are pirate-likeDark Jaguar: They basically just do raidsDark Jaguar: Their end goals are the major concernDark Jaguar: Which is

Dark Jaguar: Oh no, did your computer mess up AGAIN?
Dark Jaguar: RESPOND! Agent code mauve,

A Black Falcon: the last one i got
A Black Falcon: wait
A Black Falcon: the last one i saw was the last one i sent. :)

Dark Jaguar: Do you exist yet?
A Black Falcon: ?
Dark Jaguar: Ah, you're back
A Black Falcon: uh i went somewhere?
A Black Falcon: you dissappeared...
Dark Jaguar: Well, it kept saying "ABF has gone idle"
Dark Jaguar: And whenver I tried saying something, you vanished again
Dark Jaguar: So I just left a bit, came back, and decided to see if you were here for keeps
Dark Jaguar: "Do not try removing the splinter from the eye of your friend before removing the board from your own."
Dark Jaguar: Oh great, did you vanish AGAIN?
Dark Jaguar: Hello?
A Black Falcon: uh
A Black Falcon: sorry, back
A Black Falcon: it said you were idle
A Black Falcon: even sent me a 'idle' message
Dark Jaguar: weird
Dark Jaguar: Did the same to you
Dark Jaguar: Wonder why...
A Black Falcon: either my comp or MSN. :)
A Black Falcon: msn is bad?
Dark Jaguar: huh?
A Black Falcon: messed up
A Black Falcon: or something
A Black Falcon: who knows...
Dark Jaguar: probably
A Black Falcon: oh, that saying
Dark Jaguar: Donwload the latest version, it's like 6.0 or something
A Black Falcon: good one.
A Black Falcon: :)
Dark Jaguar: YEah, heard it from some wise man
A Black Falcon: he'd say he doesn't have a board there. :DD
Dark Jaguar: Well, read it as a quote from him
A Black Falcon: ?
Dark Jaguar: anyway
A Black Falcon: hey
Dark Jaguar: MS has added yet another "must have thingy" to mice
A Black Falcon: my comp's been on most of the day!
Dark Jaguar: Now the mouse scroll wheel can be tilted left and right and it's analog
A Black Falcon: (and yes it needs a reboot) :D
Dark Jaguar: So you can scroll left and right now
A Black Falcon: but i never reboot it do it... no...
A Black Falcon: because often it doesn't help for long, unfortunately
Dark Jaguar: My mouse is plenty good enough though
A Black Falcon: huh...
A Black Falcon: interesting
A Black Falcon: tilted left/right?
A Black Falcon: sounds odd
A Black Falcon: can you still click it?
Dark Jaguar: yes
Dark Jaguar: I tried one out in the store
Dark Jaguar: IT's MS's latest mouse
A Black Falcon: huh...
Dark Jaguar: However, they once again have abandoned the ambidextrous mouse design in favor of rightys
Dark Jaguar: I tell ya, I'm SICK of the right man!
A Black Falcon: i have a basic 3-button intellimouse
A Black Falcon: its curved...
A Black Falcon: for right hadn
A Black Falcon: nand
A Black Falcon: hand
A Black Falcon: darn choppy computer
A Black Falcon: intellimouses have been curved right for years...
A Black Falcon: why is it bad?
A Black Falcon: unless you're a lefty... :D
Dark Jaguar: Nah, don't have a problem :D
Dark Jaguar: I'm actually an ambi, just like my mouse
Dark Jaguar: An MS optical with 2 buttons and a wheel
A Black Falcon: huh
A Black Falcon: yeah, MS makes the curved and the straight mice...
A Black Falcon: but curved ones always seem to be the ones you get with a new comp
Dark Jaguar: yeah
A Black Falcon: i wish i had an optical...
A Black Falcon: they are cool
Dark Jaguar: I just know a couple lefties who get annoyed with the fact that all MS's mice tend to come out curved and THEN ambi
A Black Falcon: no cleaning mouse-balls!
Dark Jaguar: the ambi ones are comfortable too
Dark Jaguar: I know
Dark Jaguar: The only reason I bought this new mouse was for the optical niceness
A Black Falcon: huh
Dark Jaguar: I just was totally fed up with cleaning my mouse out all the time
A Black Falcon: that's about the only thing that could get me to go and spend money on a moue. :)
A Black Falcon: mouse
Dark Jaguar: Since I got this, not only have I not had to clean it, it's always had PERFECT accuracy
A Black Falcon: cool
Dark Jaguar: There are only two rules
A Black Falcon: wait
Dark Jaguar: Make sure you don't use it on a mirror :D
A Black Falcon: don't you have to clean off those sticky strips/pads on the bottom?
A Black Falcon: well nto sticky
Dark Jaguar: And make sure you don't use it on a surface that has not a single bit of differentiation
Dark Jaguar: Nope
Dark Jaguar: They aren't sticky
A Black Falcon: but sticky to dirt. :)
Dark Jaguar: Those are just the pads that keep the mouse over the pad
Dark Jaguar: As of yet, I have never had to clean those
Dark Jaguar: These seem different than the old mouse ones that I know you talk about
Dark Jaguar: They don't seem to attract any dirt
A Black Falcon: cool
A Black Falcon: mine has these two long pads...
Dark Jaguar: I know
Dark Jaguar: I had the same one you have now
A Black Falcon: they attract dirt and when i clean the inside i have to clean them too. :(
Dark Jaguar: Heh, but I never really had to clean those anyway
A Black Falcon: i don't like them looking all covered in dirt...
Dark Jaguar: yeah, just sayin' is all
Dark Jaguar: Anyway, MS needs to go beyond the outdated sidewinder
Dark Jaguar: Sure it's comfortable, but I'm struggling to find a decent PC controller. What do you use?
A Black Falcon: saitek
A Black Falcon: Saitek p880
Dark Jaguar: What they should do is basically use their Controller S, maybe thinning it up a bit
A Black Falcon: OB1 has one too
Dark Jaguar: hmm
A Black Falcon: $20, solid pad
Dark Jaguar: hmm
Dark Jaguar: I'm looking at their site
A Black Falcon: no rumble, taht one's more expensive
A Black Falcon: but dual-analog, 10 buttons, and a decent d-pad
A Black Falcon: good d-pad actually
Dark Jaguar: DOn't really care that much about rumble. I can't think of many PC games that have it
Dark Jaguar: ah
A Black Falcon: no, not many
A Black Falcon: mostly
Dark Jaguar: are the triggers analog?
A Black Falcon: it jsut uses the software to rumble when there's a loud sound
A Black Falcon: no
A Black Falcon: but remember
A Black Falcon: PC doesn't have analog buttons
A Black Falcon: any analog thing is a axis, not a button...
A Black Falcon: which means some games won't map it as a button.
Dark Jaguar: ah
A Black Falcon: i don't know a p pads with analog shoulder buttons...
A Black Falcon: pc pads
A Black Falcon: of any pc pads that is. :)
Dark Jaguar: The only game I can think of that supports such analog axis, as you say, is MGS2
A Black Falcon: ?
Dark Jaguar: That one is designed with analog axis in mind
Dark Jaguar: For shooting
A Black Falcon: oh
Dark Jaguar: So you can pull it out with a light press, and fire with a hard press
Dark Jaguar: They should add in analog triggers to a new pad
A Black Falcon: well the pc version must have adjusted
A Black Falcon: something
A Black Falcon: oh
A Black Falcon: Knights of the Old Republic for PC
A Black Falcon: 3 GIG min install!
Dark Jaguar: indeed
A Black Falcon: analog triggers on pc...
A Black Falcon: not sure if it'd work
A Black Falcon: i guess it could
A Black Falcon: wuhh
A Black Falcon: actually
A Black Falcon: how? re-doing the whole joystick properties system?
A Black Falcon: buttons are ON or OFF.
A Black Falcon: axes are 1 to 100. Slider-style
Dark Jaguar: No, like you said
A Black Falcon: two axes are a joystick
Dark Jaguar: Just put on a trigger button and have it assigned to an axis
A Black Falcon: one is a throttle lever, or a twist axis like on many joysticks
A Black Falcon: ah
A Black Falcon: but you see
Dark Jaguar: That would remove a button, that what you sayin'?
A Black Falcon: it would work... but pretty much just for games designed to work with it.
Dark Jaguar: Just put on TWO buttons on each side *gets slapped by ABF*
A Black Falcon: it wouldn't even work well as a throttle...
Dark Jaguar: I mean for what supports it
A Black Falcon: i had one gamepad with analog triggers
Dark Jaguar: Oh
Dark Jaguar: Really?
A Black Falcon: actually it had a analog pair and a digigital pair
A Black Falcon: digita
A Black Falcon: l
A Black Falcon: the analog ones... it was the R axis (X-Y, R-Z...)
Dark Jaguar: ah
A Black Falcon: one button was 50 to 100 and the other 0 to 49...
A Black Falcon: the two were one axis and 'zero' in the center was not pressing
A Black Falcon: not too useful for most games, you may imagine
A Black Falcon: racing games i guess, for acceleration, it might work...
A Black Falcon: but it'd require adjustment
A Black Falcon: oh i'm sure they could do it and make it work
A Black Falcon: the problem then would be game compaitibility
A Black Falcon: THAT issue is probably why no one has really tried. :)
A Black Falcon: helloooooooo
Dark Jaguar: hey
A Black Falcon: you there?
Dark Jaguar: Well, that saitek pad seems nice
A Black Falcon: huge shoulder buttons
A Black Falcon: HUGE
A Black Falcon: one per side taking up the whole top
A Black Falcon: buttons 9 and 10 are analog-clicks
A Black Falcon: there are other decent pads... if you want a PSX clone with 4 face and 4 shoulder.
Dark Jaguar: PS1
A Black Falcon: this is the best one I know of that has 6 face... :)
A Black Falcon: dual-analog, 10 to 12 button pads with 4 face and 4 shoulder
A Black Falcon: yeah, the one flaw is 10 buttons and not 12.
Dark Jaguar: And what do you mean by "too late to change it" anyway? Sony themselves changed it. Why is it too late?
A Black Falcon: ?
A Black Falcon: change what?
Dark Jaguar: never mind
Dark Jaguar: Anyway
Dark Jaguar: So, a lot of pads now have 12 buttons standard?
A Black Falcon: yes
A Black Falcon: not all though, but its common
A Black Falcon: 10 to 12.
A Black Falcon: this one is differnt...
Dark Jaguar: So a lot now have 6 face and 4 shoulder?
A Black Falcon: most with 10 have the 9 and 10 as 'start' and 'select' style ones in the center
A Black Falcon: no
Dark Jaguar: ah
A Black Falcon: most are 4 face 4 shoulder start/select and maybe analog clicks
Dark Jaguar: So um, where is the start and select style buttons here?
Dark Jaguar: I see a mode select
A Black Falcon: this one leaves out start/select.
Dark Jaguar: And one that I don't know
A Black Falcon: ah
A Black Falcon: that is different
A Black Falcon: there aren't any.
A Black Falcon: i map start/select stuff to analog-clicks...
Dark Jaguar: ah
A Black Falcon: once you get used to it it works
A Black Falcon: and the Mode button.
A Black Falcon: er
A Black Falcon: Digital button
A Black Falcon: in the center
A Black Falcon: it switches the X-Y and R-Z axes
Dark Jaguar: hmm?
Dark Jaguar: switches?
A Black Falcon: between the d-pad and the joystick on that side, for easy switching between analog and digital play. :)
Dark Jaguar: ah
Dark Jaguar: I see
A Black Falcon: the otehr one becomes a 8-way hat switch, BTW.
Dark Jaguar: And the other button?
Dark Jaguar: I imagined so
A Black Falcon: S...
Dark Jaguar: So, that S button above the 6 face
Dark Jaguar: What's that?
A Black Falcon: oh
Dark Jaguar: Is it like the mode button on the sidewinder?
A Black Falcon: the standard useless 'programming/alternate mode' button
Dark Jaguar: Ah
Dark Jaguar: Uesless :D
A Black Falcon: except worse, this one cannot be used as a button!
Dark Jaguar: Never used that myself
A Black Falcon: its a toggle.
A Black Falcon: when enabled it lights up bright red... :)
A Black Falcon: i never use it either
A Black Falcon: its for alternate functions i guess..
A Black Falcon: i only used 'Mode' on the sidewinder as button 10, after all...
Dark Jaguar: yeah, additional buttons prettymuch
Dark Jaguar: But it's a bit much
A Black Falcon: i don't get why companies keep including the useless thing
Dark Jaguar: Not at all natural
A Black Falcon: oh i guess you could get used to it...
A Black Falcon: if you wanted
A Black Falcon: but i don't see the point
A Black Falcon: and anyway i doubt most games recognize the thing...
A Black Falcon: its mostly for if you program something
A Black Falcon: like button commands on the gamepad
A Black Falcon: you can have 4 buttonsets in one layout, for analog/digital switched and for S on and off.
Dark Jaguar: yeah, that's right
Dark Jaguar: But really
Dark Jaguar: IT's just a bit much
A Black Falcon: who uses the programming software anyway? :)
Dark Jaguar: You try pressing something while in one mode, and you are dead
A Black Falcon: yeah
A Black Falcon: not too useful
A Black Falcon: oh well...
A Black Falcon: seems like every pad has the function anyway
A Black Falcon: oh well i like the pad anyway. :)
Dark Jaguar: yeah
A Black Falcon: analog sticks aren't the greatest...
Dark Jaguar: I'm sure the public would yell at them and call them names if they ever released a pad without it
A Black Falcon: but honestly, i don't use themthat much, and when i do they are good enough
Dark Jaguar: Yeah, taht weird square shape is odd
A Black Falcon: doesn't only nintendo ahve the 8-sided shape?
Dark Jaguar: Most have a circle shape
Dark Jaguar: Nintendo has an octogon
A Black Falcon: yeah
Dark Jaguar: These guys have a square, which from my own use in store displays, seems just a tad uncomfortable, something that kinda "wanted" to fly off to a corner
A Black Falcon: true.
Dark Jaguar: Oh well, I could get used to it
A Black Falcon: but think, how many pc games do you have that use analog?
A Black Falcon: and need gamepads. :)
Dark Jaguar: Well, with that in mind, no reason to upgrade from my sidewinder
Dark Jaguar: Speaking of which, why did you?
Dark Jaguar: Seems you never really use the analog sticks
Dark Jaguar: To be honest, more than a new pad, I want a new joystick
Dark Jaguar: Mine has 2 buttons and a dial
Dark Jaguar: Nothing else
Dark Jaguar: And who's bright idea was the brand name "thrustmaster" anyway?
A Black Falcon: my sidewinder...
A Black Falcon: it broke, remember!
A Black Falcon: ThrustMaster is a classic company!
A Black Falcon: its been around a long time...
A Black Falcon: my Sidewinder stopped working.
A Black Falcon: the d-pad doesn't work right...
A Black Falcon: and i have enough analog games to make it worth getting
A Black Falcon: and as for a joystick...
A Black Falcon: i make do with my 1997 SideWinder 3D Pro. :)
Dark Jaguar: ah
Dark Jaguar: I remember something like that breaking thing
A Black Falcon: sure, the driver doesn't work anymore so i have to use it as a 4 button stick, but oh well
Dark Jaguar: Anyway
A Black Falcon: don't use it much
A Black Falcon: i need to go.
A Black Falcon: back later probably
Dark Jaguar: And I wasn't saying thrustmaster isn't a classic company. But, that name...

A Black Falcon: sorry, comp
A Black Falcon: s messed up. had to restart msn
A Black Falcon: you there?
A Black Falcon: no?
A Black Falcon: bah
A Black Falcon: stupid msn
Dark Jaguar: ah hello
Dark Jaguar: Strange, no noise
Dark Jaguar: guess the volume was too low
A Black Falcon: huh
A Black Falcon: one thing about AIM...
A Black Falcon: it makes a sound every time you send or recieve a message
A Black Falcon: good sometimes, bad others
A Black Falcon: but good for when people send you messages...
Dark Jaguar: Mine only sends it when I recieve one and that window isn't selected. That's the only time I WANT a noise though
Dark Jaguar: Volume was just too low
Dark Jaguar: ATI's latest drivers are EVIL
Dark Jaguar: One of my games has been crashing ever since I updated them.
Dark Jaguar: VERY annoying.
A Black Falcon: oh
A Black Falcon: i remember when i tried NVidia's latest drivers amonth or two ago
A Black Falcon: my computer constantly crashed. Constantly.
A Black Falcon: it didn't stop crashing and hanging up until I went back to a older, more stable, version of the NVidia driver...
Dark Jaguar: By the way, either quote me outright for what I've said to you or don't even mention it to ob1. You have a knack for hinting at stuff I didn't say without you even realizing it.
Dark Jaguar: I'm going back to the 3.7 version
Dark Jaguar: And I'll just keep that until 3.9 is released
A Black Falcon: next time i see him online
A Black Falcon: how about i send him some or all of yesterday's chat transcript...
A Black Falcon: remember, i have the option on in msn that saves all conversations. :)
Dark Jaguar: Go ahead
A Black Falcon: ok
Dark Jaguar: He seems to think I was badmouthing him or something behind his back, which truly isn't right at all
A Black Falcon: i know...
Dark Jaguar: I was only talking about his arguments
A Black Falcon: he insults others so much but say a couple somewhat mild things about him...
A Black Falcon: one thing i have noticed that he does is over-react. a lot.
A Black Falcon: i'll say something and his reaction will seem to be way out of proportion for what i said...
Dark Jaguar: Hmm, yes I read his latest stuff.
Dark Jaguar: He seems VERY upset, genuinly so
A Black Falcon: i know
Dark Jaguar: I was hoping things had been resolved, we seemed to be getting along fine...
A Black Falcon: but in the arguements he has with me
A Black Falcon: he often gets all angry over what seems to me like little things...
A Black Falcon: its like he takes every statement in the worst possible light
Dark Jaguar: hmm, yes that is something he does, but I've been guilty of that too
A Black Falcon: true
A Black Falcon: but as often as him? :)
Dark Jaguar: Well... I wouldn't want to assume as much.
Dark Jaguar: Not to insult or anything, but I find it amusing to match OB1's current avatar with what he's saying.
A Black Falcon: ?
Dark Jaguar: That dancing meat wad
Dark Jaguar: Kinda funny to relate that to him getting upset as of late.
Dark Jaguar: You know, I wonder if he's always been upset with us during arguments in the past...
A Black Falcon: probably...
Dark Jaguar: I know back then I might assume he was upset, and say "calm down", and he'd make light of it saying "I'm calm silly", but I wonder if he was just hiding it...
A Black Falcon: he appears to get upset easily or something
Dark Jaguar: It's very convinient how Trillian not only saves old chat logs, but I can see every single bit of our old conversations above our current convo (greyed out)
A Black Falcon: cool
A Black Falcon: msn saves them in seperate files
A Black Falcon: aim doesn't save them unless you do it. :(
Dark Jaguar: :(
Dark Jaguar: It's just hte next evolution
Dark Jaguar: One thing though
Dark Jaguar: I wish it would be time stamped to show when convos ended and started up there.
Dark Jaguar: Right now, it all looks like we had one HUGE conversation before this one
A Black Falcon: hmm
A Black Falcon: msn saves timestamps
A Black Falcon: date and time of every message
A Black Falcon: in the file...
A Black Falcon: seperate file for each person you've chatted wiht with the contents of all conversations they were in, i think
A Black Falcon: ...
A Black Falcon: helllooooo
Dark Jaguar: hello
Dark Jaguar: ah
Dark Jaguar: Well, generally it's the first in the convo that the conversations here are saved under
Dark Jaguar: But no stamps througout it to say when one starts and another ends
A Black Falcon: hu
A Black Falcon: h
A Black Falcon: oh
A Black Falcon: also it changes color for each window
A Black Falcon: alternating between blue and white
Dark Jaguar: hmm
A Black Falcon: the background behind the chatlog file, i mean. :)
Dark Jaguar: a
Dark Jaguar: h
Dark Jaguar: In any case, I just want to understand one thing. Why do you consider it cowardly of me to say something and then if someone disagrees just step out of the argument? I'm not saying you have to agree with me or something when I do that, nor am I "giving up" my position. I'm leaving it at a stale mate because I just don't see it as worth the trouble. You two seem to find this behavior
Dark Jaguar: sickening though
A Black Falcon: ob1 puts it in stronger terms than i would
Dark Jaguar: yeah, but still
A Black Falcon: but when you don't defend a position upon critisizm are we supposed to still consider it with the same weight? why???
Dark Jaguar: Now now
Dark Jaguar: As I just said, I'm leaving the argument alone
A Black Falcon: that IS what you do
Dark Jaguar: I'm not saying "that means I'm right"
Dark Jaguar: You didn't loose just because I quit, and I never said as much
A Black Falcon: ?
A Black Falcon: not saying anything to ob1 when he says stuff like he is just makes it worse, i'd think...
A Black Falcon: but i just don't understand your position in this case
Dark Jaguar: Pardon?
A Black Falcon: now on some things i can see not wanting to debate...
Dark Jaguar: I have a hard time understanding yours
Dark Jaguar: Tell me telepathically
A Black Falcon: but we're just discussing games!
Dark Jaguar: Yeah
A Black Falcon: now if it was the politics arguements you were objecting to i'd understand a lot more...
Dark Jaguar: um
Dark Jaguar: Look, I'm just stating my opinion and stepping out.
A Black Falcon: but this isn't something that matters so much
Dark Jaguar: What I wanna know is why you consider that such a bad thing
Dark Jaguar: Right, that's exactly WHY I dont' see it worth debating!
A Black Falcon: so why is it so bad to defend a position once questioned? I just don't get it...
A Black Falcon: because we find it fun!
A Black Falcon: or entertaining
A Black Falcon: or whatever
Dark Jaguar: I just don't want to waste the time, that's all
Dark Jaguar: Look, why do you want me to stay in?
Dark Jaguar: Exactly why is leaving such a bad thing?
Dark Jaguar: I just can't see it
Dark Jaguar: You both eventually give up too
A Black Falcon: because you made a point
Dark Jaguar: right
Dark Jaguar: And?
A Black Falcon: now someone has a question about it, and you leave
Dark Jaguar: I can't just say something?
A Black Falcon: see
A Black Falcon: we usually come to some kind of conclusion
A Black Falcon: sometimes we just have a truce...
A Black Falcon: but more often than you seem to think we resolve it
A Black Falcon: sure, it takes a while...
A Black Falcon: see, when you say something and don't back it up
A Black Falcon: your point is valid when you say it, but once questioned?
A Black Falcon: i don't see how it can be looked on as the same
Dark Jaguar: Um, that's irrelevent here.
Dark Jaguar: I'm just asking why you don't like me leaving.
A Black Falcon: irrelevant?
Dark Jaguar: I don't get it, I'll make a note, sometimes specifically saying "that's all I have to say about that", and then leave. I EXPECT you two to tear into it, but I don't see it worth staying around to defend it.
A Black Falcon: but isn't that the point?
A Black Falcon: uh
A Black Falcon: i mean wasn't i describing why its annoying?
Dark Jaguar: I don't get it though
A Black Falcon: because if you won't defend a point, what's the point of ever making it!
Dark Jaguar: Why can't I just say my opinion as I see fit?
Dark Jaguar: Just so you KNOW my opinion, that's all!
Dark Jaguar: It's called "sharing".
Dark Jaguar: I honestly just wanted you to hear me out, but didn't care to say anything further
A Black Falcon: about what?
A Black Falcon: every time you do that?
Dark Jaguar: about what? What?
A Black Falcon: i just don't get it
Dark Jaguar: I'm not DOING anything though. Sheesh, EVERYONE AT TC does the same thing.
Dark Jaguar: Not as much as me, but often enough everyone tries interjecting something into a conversation
Dark Jaguar: And doesn't back it up when either of you attack it
A Black Falcon: true
Dark Jaguar: And what I want to know is, why should we bother?
Dark Jaguar: You know our opinion, just guess that it hasn't changed if we don't bother responding
A Black Falcon: because hearing just OB1's viewpoint gets tiresome after a while
Dark Jaguar: Ah, I see
Dark Jaguar: STill
Dark Jaguar: I just want to know, do you really find it wrong to say something and then just let it be after that?
A Black Falcon: me/him/me/him etc gets old...
A Black Falcon: because we both do want to resolve the thing in the end, i guess
Dark Jaguar: Yes, resolution is good
A Black Falcon: and making points like that just doesn't help
A Black Falcon: much
Dark Jaguar: It's not really to end the argument when the rest of us say random opinions
A Black Falcon: i wouldn't say that not arguing makes you a coward... its just a very strange position to take
Dark Jaguar: It's to let you know what we think.
Dark Jaguar: Not to change anything really, that's why we don't bother continuing a lot
A Black Falcon: but you se
Dark Jaguar: When me or GR or LL just interject a thought, it's to let you know more about us, not for the argument's sake.
A Black Falcon: you often make points that are arguable...
Dark Jaguar: Right
Dark Jaguar: But I don't care to argue ABOUT them.
A Black Falcon: oh, GR when he comes in often does a decent job of staying...
Dark Jaguar: Yes, I meant EM, I confuse them.
A Black Falcon: LL never argues though
A Black Falcon: like, at all
A Black Falcon: but its really frusterating to see someone present a position, have it argued for or against, and have them abandon it!
Dark Jaguar: A lot of the time, they didn't want to start an argument
Dark Jaguar: They wanted to state their position just to let it be known
Dark Jaguar: And when someone argues it, and often around here EVERY opinion has been getting argued on, they just say "forget it"
A Black Falcon: but if you present a position and its not perfectly accurate (and how often is THAT true) not defending it is the same as abandoning it from any way i can seee
A Black Falcon: see
Dark Jaguar: It makes one wonder if it's even worth trying to say one's thoughts if they are just going to be attacked every single time. Some REST between arguments is good, even if you disagree with it sometimes they just want you to KNOW what they think.
Dark Jaguar: But You really aren't threatening my right to think it
A Black Falcon: no...
Dark Jaguar: If this was in some court and my view was on trial
A Black Falcon: most of are arguements are after all about opinions...
Dark Jaguar: Then of course not defending it would mean I'm pretty much abandoning it
Dark Jaguar: But just a little conversation among friends?
Dark Jaguar: It's not a "loss" just to say you don't feel like arguing.
A Black Falcon: i'd say it is...
Dark Jaguar: Nor is it a win, of course
Dark Jaguar: and that's the problem.
Dark Jaguar: They are automatically wrong the second they give up?
Dark Jaguar: That's not right at all
Dark Jaguar: That's why gang members kill each other, that mindset of "if I don't defend it I'm giving up"
Dark Jaguar: Only a fool takes up a fool's argument
Dark Jaguar: Sometimes it's better just to walk away
Dark Jaguar: Doesn't make one wrong
Dark Jaguar: It's just that the argument didn't MATTER
Dark Jaguar: Now, when the argument has what you think on STAKE, THEN walking away is giving up
A Black Falcon: have we ever said that we are discussing vitally important things? :)
Dark Jaguar: OF course not, that's why I'm so confused here
A Black Falcon: but it IS generally about what you think!
Dark Jaguar: You KNOW it's not important, but seem to think that by backing down I've somehow lost something
Dark Jaguar: Right, ABOUT
Dark Jaguar: That's it though
A Black Falcon: not on a subject that's so important, but on one more interesting to talk about...
Dark Jaguar: It's not like I loose the right to think it afterwards
Dark Jaguar: If I was in a court of law trying to pass something I believe in and walk out, THEN it's a true loss
A Black Falcon: those politics things with weltall were stupid. no one changed any position one inch. just a way to burn time, mostly, i guess...
Dark Jaguar: But otherwise? What's the harm in just saying "whatever" when nothing's at stake?
Dark Jaguar: It's not that I'm giving up my position, it's that stopped caring what you think, that's all.
A Black Falcon: youseem to not believe in any of the reasons
A Black Falcon: it is frusterating to us...
A Black Falcon: and he does have one point
A Black Falcon: about how you often talk a *lot* more in chat than to him
A Black Falcon: of course he goes way too far on it...
A Black Falcon: but it is true that in chat you spend far more time in serious gaming-related disussion.
Dark Jaguar: Yeah
Dark Jaguar: Because it's a lot quicker to get a point across
Dark Jaguar: And misconceptions are a LOT easier to avoid or correct in a chat.
A Black Falcon: true
Dark Jaguar: So I figured it's a lot easier to talk to either of you online. Of course, I almost never seem to see OB1 online
A Black Falcon: he isn't online much.
A Black Falcon: i think he used to be on more...
A Black Falcon: but recently i haven't seen him much at all
A Black Falcon: and it seems to be even more random than you...
A Black Falcon: you aren't on at the same time much
A Black Falcon: and anyway i don't think i've seen ob1 online in... a while
Dark Jaguar: Yeah, I seem to be actually showing up on a regular basis, but he's not on at all any more
A Black Falcon: yeah
A Black Falcon: three days in a row now
A Black Falcon: but not for like 10 days before that
A Black Falcon: yup.
A Black Falcon: thought so
A Black Falcon: ten days since i've talked to him online
Dark Jaguar: Haha
Dark Jaguar: I just saw somethind sad
Dark Jaguar: They are lowering the N-Gage's price (good move)
Dark Jaguar: But ONLY until November!
Dark Jaguar: The one thing NO company has been stupid enough to do is RAISE the price of a system
A Black Falcon: Nokia is the most clueless 'gaming' company in years
A Black Falcon: i do think that if you acted in TC like you do with me in chat OB1 wouldn't be anywhere near as annoyed with you, but whatever.
A Black Falcon: uh,... last one this clueless... the CD-i guys? :D
Dark Jaguar: WHat is it I do different anyway?
Dark Jaguar: CD-i people at least knew to get some exclusives
A Black Falcon: true
A Black Falcon: but they weren't too good... :)
Dark Jaguar: :D
Dark Jaguar: Anyway, WHY would NOkia be so stupid as to lower the sytem's price for like a week and then RAISE it:?
A Black Falcon: BIG SALES!!!!!!!!
A Black Falcon: :D
A Black Falcon: i have no idea.
A Black Falcon: none
A Black Falcon: nothing nokia is doing makes logical sense...
Dark Jaguar: no sense at all
A Black Falcon: design? bad. REALLY bad. marketing? bad. games? unoriginal. price? high.
Dark Jaguar: Just out of curiosity, when did GR become OB1's lacky?
A Black Falcon: how so?
Dark Jaguar: I must have missed the meeting
Dark Jaguar: I dunno, he seems to be saying "ohohoho Yes!" after everything OB1 says, and has been for like a month.
A Black Falcon: haven't really noticed...
A Black Falcon: what i have noticed with him is how he's agreeing with weltall on every politics thread
Dark Jaguar: Oh wait.
Dark Jaguar: I do remember a while ago he told me he's "messing with" ob1 or something
Dark Jaguar: But either he was actually messing with me or he's planning some REALLY big gag that might end up doing more harm than good.
A Black Falcon: i still don't really know what you're talking about....
A Black Falcon: where has GR been agreeing with OB1 so much?
Dark Jaguar: eh, maybe it's just me
Dark Jaguar: I dunno, but I notice he sides with him against you a lot
A Black Falcon: if you say so... :)
Dark Jaguar: :D
A Black Falcon: oh, dj... i'd think your 'i don't want to waste the time' position would be stronger if sometimes you did defend positions... or maybe that'd just get OB1 to call you even more indecisive. i really don't know, given him...
Dark Jaguar: Go ahead and say one thing you don't like about GR, so that I might immediatly tell him (I'm talking to him right now, but don't tell you that!)
A Black Falcon: uhh...
A Black Falcon: very far right politics. :)
Dark Jaguar: ah
A Black Falcon: ,,,
Dark Jaguar: so...
A Black Falcon: ?
Dark Jaguar: hmm
A Black Falcon: no topic now? :)
Dark Jaguar: seems that way...
Dark Jaguar: Well, you know how it is, if the convo dies we have too many participants.
Dark Jaguar: *awkward moment*
A Black Falcon: uhh
A Black Falcon: but we have just two... :)
Dark Jaguar: Goldmember: Ahah, he doesn't understand because he ish so tiny.
A Black Falcon: when in doubt
A Black Falcon: uh
A Black Falcon: mention warcraft? :D
Dark Jaguar: Warcraft is cool
A Black Falcon: yes
A Black Falcon: uh
A Black Falcon: wasn't it odd that bleakstare posted once and never said another word?
A Black Falcon: i would think he'd at least read it and get on msn or something
Dark Jaguar: hmm
Dark Jaguar: It is odd
Dark Jaguar: Does anyone besides us know about Bleakstare's new identity?
A Black Falcon: no
A Black Falcon: and no one posted in that thread...
A Black Falcon: i'd think someone might have been able toguess
A Black Falcon: (who that was)
A Black Falcon: but i gues no one cared. :)
Dark Jaguar: heh
Dark Jaguar: Both of us hinted well enough :D
Dark Jaguar: But then again, no one ever gets my hints.
Dark Jaguar: Yeesh, I hinted at my real name for the longest time...
A Black Falcon: really?
Dark Jaguar: You didn't notice?
A Black Falcon: no
Dark Jaguar: I've been doing it since 2 incarnations of TC ago
Dark Jaguar: Rumble, I believe
A Black Falcon: really?
A Black Falcon: no, i think everyone was pretty surprised...
Dark Jaguar: hmm, yes I imagine they would be
A Black Falcon: hints?
A Black Falcon: you dodged anything \even close to 'who are you' every time it came up...
Dark Jaguar: Indeed
Dark Jaguar: It was fun
A Black Falcon: really?
A Black Falcon: huh
A Black Falcon: 'hints' hah
A Black Falcon: nothing anyone else could tell as a hint, i imagine? :)
Dark Jaguar: apparently NOT
A Black Falcon: no. :)
Dark Jaguar: I mean, I actually SAID it a couple times
A Black Falcon: really?
Dark Jaguar: Generally, I worked in some hints into my occasional compeltely insane rant
A Black Falcon: but does anyone read them? :D
Dark Jaguar: aha
A Black Falcon: hey
A Black Falcon: you know that's the first time you straight admitted it? To me, at least...
A Black Falcon: oh, and OB1 has said as much as 'I often skim over DJ's posts'...
Dark Jaguar: Did I now?
Dark Jaguar: :D
A Black Falcon: well
Dark Jaguar: ( I love doing that )
A Black Falcon: i never know with you...
A Black Falcon: :)
Dark Jaguar: I like Vash the Stampede's answer to "what's your real name?"
A Black Falcon: and yes, i think we all know you love doing that. :)
Dark Jaguar: My real name.... isn't important.
A Black Falcon: :)
A Black Falcon: do they listen? :)
Dark Jaguar: Ah yes
Dark Jaguar: do you mean does Wolfwood listen to Vash? Yes, he just laughs it off as Vash's weirdness.
A Black Falcon: well that's a show, not real life... :)
Dark Jaguar: That's how people SHOULD be though!
A Black Falcon: why?
Dark Jaguar: Because it's all nice-like
A Black Falcon: ?
Dark Jaguar: and cool
A Black Falcon: the Star Wars hand-wave 'You don't kneed to know who I am' thing?
Dark Jaguar: if FLCL has taught me one thing, it's that people only succeed if they just BREAK OUT OF what they are supposed to do
Dark Jaguar: Well, I said that totally wrong
Dark Jaguar: But you know, like how irons remove the wrinkles in our brains
A Black Falcon: FLCL is one of the weirdest shows...
Dark Jaguar: FLCL makes perfect sense when you analyze what everything represents
Dark Jaguar: And you soon realize how many people never grow up
Dark Jaguar: The worst thing one can do is give up on their dreams. That's when you are confined to meaningless existance.
Dark Jaguar: Well, unless the dream is to kill all humans
A Black Falcon: yeah... :)
Dark Jaguar: Some of my best friends are humans so that's a problem
A Black Falcon: :D
Dark Jaguar: There's just so MUCH meaning packed into that show that it's hard to make sense of anything
A Black Falcon: true.
Dark Jaguar: But the easiest thing to get is what it means when that iron steams every now and then
Dark Jaguar: It means that's the point when the characters, and the viewers, stopped thinking
A Black Falcon: its also a quite short series...
Dark Jaguar: Generally, when that happens, it's at a point in the story where it's all gone predictable
Dark Jaguar: Or "standard"
A Black Falcon: hey
A Black Falcon: we really need to PLAY warcraft sometimes...
A Black Falcon: also
Dark Jaguar: haha
A Black Falcon: FLCL predictable?
Dark Jaguar: Yes indeed
A Black Falcon: never
Dark Jaguar: Well, at those iron steaming points, it's very cliche stuff happening (even though it's using weirdness plot devices)
Dark Jaguar: Like that high school argument in the 3rd episode
Dark Jaguar: They did the ol' back and forth with the "but at least I didn't cheat on the votes", and then we stopped having to think :D
A Black Falcon: hmm...
A Black Falcon: dead again
A Black Falcon: so...
Dark Jaguar: so
A Black Falcon: should we play warcraft, or should I just go do something else...
Dark Jaguar: hmm
Dark Jaguar: it's been a while, I sure hope it works with my latest drivers
A Black Falcon: :)
Dark Jaguar: What the fleck?
Dark Jaguar: My computer made a sound I neve herad before
Dark Jaguar: And it sounded like some ghost or evil computer...
A Black Falcon: that cannot be good...
Dark Jaguar: Or maybe, the ghost of an evil computer
Dark Jaguar: From my speakers
Dark Jaguar: I can only guess Trillian made that noise, but what a noise to make
Dark Jaguar: So then, a game of Frozen Throne?
Dark Jaguar: On one other note, with things as they are, I plan on waiting out OB1's "hot" periond and then talking to him.
A Black Falcon: okay...
Dark Jaguar: okay
A Black Falcon: probably a good idea
A Black Falcon: letting him cool down?
Dark Jaguar: yeah
A Black Falcon: maybe i should give him that segment of this chatlog too, unless you just want to say it all again to him. :)
Dark Jaguar: Well, either one of us could send it, but I think he would take it best if he's a little calmer
A Black Falcon: true
Dark Jaguar: I know I sometimes see things in the wrong light if I'm too upset for my own good
A Black Falcon: as opposed to now his "DJ is so stupid bad" stuff
Dark Jaguar: well, in any case, Frozen Throne?
A Black Falcon: i can kind of see his point... but he needs to learn to not read too much into things and to calm down better. :)
Dark Jaguar: Yeah, I can see where he's coming from, but it's a misunderstanding
Dark Jaguar: Story of our relationship :D
Dark Jaguar: well, shall we play?
A Black Falcon: ok
A Black Falcon: launching it
Dark Jaguar: me too
A Black Falcon: west or east?
Dark Jaguar: west, but just a sec. Odd problem
A Black Falcon: ?
Dark Jaguar: Every time I try loading this up, it says "please make sure the disk in in the drive"
A Black Falcon: er...
A Black Falcon: strange...
Dark Jaguar: But I used the autoload from teh disk to LOAD it
A Black Falcon: played it recently?
Dark Jaguar: Yes, but after those stupid new drivers caused a game to crash BIG
Dark Jaguar: And during scan disk some damaged areas were found
A Black Falcon: damaged?
Dark Jaguar: Well, not damaged areas (that would REALLY suck, but it happens), but damaged files
A Black Falcon: i've had that happen
Dark Jaguar: Lemme check some files. I wanna see what disk drive the game is looking at
A Black Falcon: happens on hard reboots sometimes..
A Black Falcon: will you be a while?
Dark Jaguar: probably
Dark Jaguar: I'm going to reinstall WC3, and Frozen Throne
A Black Falcon: really?
Dark Jaguar: Already moved my save folder out of the way
A Black Falcon: no way around it?
Dark Jaguar: I think it's forgotten my CD-Rom drive
Dark Jaguar: So by reinstalling, I'll get it to stop checking drive D, my second hard drive :D
Dark Jaguar: it'll take a bit
A Black Falcon: did you install that harddrive since last playing or something?
Dark Jaguar: no
A Black Falcon: then it did mess up...
Dark Jaguar: I already SAID some files got damaged
Dark Jaguar: well, uninstall was quick :D
A Black Falcon: well i reboot all the time like that and ...
A Black Falcon: well i don't know
A Black Falcon: probably sometimes files go bad. :)
Dark Jaguar: I sometimes have to hard boot too
Dark Jaguar: But never had such a problem
Dark Jaguar: It's this crashing that's the problem
A Black Falcon: yeah, it is rare
Dark Jaguar: Stupid latest drivers...
Dark Jaguar: I won't be loading that game until the newest drivers come out
Dark Jaguar: AT which point my computer will explode
A Black Falcon: wait
A Black Falcon: you didn't go install a older driver when the current one clearly messes up?
Dark Jaguar: well, I've read about that, and it seems the Catalyst drivers are tough to uninstall
Dark Jaguar: The thing is, It's VERY hard to get windows to NOT automatically reinstall drivers when you remove them
A Black Falcon: you can't install older drivers over newer?
A Black Falcon: that's what i did...
A Black Falcon: with that bad new Detonator
A Black Falcon: (version)
Dark Jaguar: ah
Dark Jaguar: Not with Catalyst
Dark Jaguar: Sometimes I think it would be best just to go NVidia
Dark Jaguar: Well, next upgrade
A Black Falcon: you can't install old drivers?
Dark Jaguar: Too expensive to be worth it right now
A Black Falcon: that's nice of them!
Dark Jaguar: It's VERY hard anyway
A Black Falcon: how bizarre
Dark Jaguar: They don't make it easy
Dark Jaguar: It would be nice if they let you roll back easily
A Black Falcon: with detonator just installing the file for a old version and rebooting installs that version...
A Black Falcon: of course the files are like 20mb, but oh well
Dark Jaguar: Lemme ask you something. Does your NVidia card get detected as a "3dfx" card in old games that have a specific mode for that?
Dark Jaguar: yeah, same here
Dark Jaguar: Here's something about PC hardware. It's all "to the extreme" and "dark" and such
A Black Falcon: no
Dark Jaguar: I don't really like that
Dark Jaguar: I mean, Detonater?
A Black Falcon: 3dfx cards are 3dfx cards
Dark Jaguar: GeForce?
A Black Falcon: Detonator supports all flavors of GeForce
Dark Jaguar: Big bull dogs and demons all over the cover, or some cyborg?
A Black Falcon: and TNT, I think
Dark Jaguar: That whole "look" is just silly.
A Black Falcon: I liked 3Dfx...
A Black Falcon: (aka 3dfx)
Dark Jaguar: Now consoles do it right. They don't make their systems look so "to the EXTREME"
A Black Falcon: and I like the older 3Dfx logo better. :)
Dark Jaguar: They make it look generally cool for any purpose
A Black Falcon: i have a 3Dfx Voodoo2 8mb in our p1 233.:)
A Black Falcon: it was the first video card i installed myself...
Dark Jaguar: Ah
A Black Falcon: and yes, it is kind of irritating that voodoo has that propriatary 3d standard that some old games use
Dark Jaguar: okay, Reign is installed
Dark Jaguar: Now for Frozen
A Black Falcon: :)
Dark Jaguar: And after that, just installing all those bonus maps I've picked up from Blizzard's site
Dark Jaguar: You know, an in-game way to get those official maps would be much appreciated Blizzard :D
A Black Falcon: uh
Dark Jaguar: Some sort of list of optional content that could be navigated
A Black Falcon: its called "join a online game where one is being used" :D
Dark Jaguar: :D
Dark Jaguar: But if one isn't being used...
Dark Jaguar: ...there's probably a reason...
A Black Falcon: people dislike it?
A Black Falcon: or its "old"
A Black Falcon: i have so many sc maps...
A Black Falcon: but wc3 not that many
A Black Falcon: shows that most of my multi was in standard games...
A Black Falcon: or ladder which always uses the included maps
Dark Jaguar: yeah
Dark Jaguar: It'd be nice if scenario gaming was more.. encouraged
A Black Falcon: plus
A Black Falcon: SC had dozens and dozens of Blizz-maps added
A Black Falcon: over a hundred, maybe?
A Black Falcon: they ran the 'map of the week' for like a year...
A Black Falcon: and then added some more after that.
Dark Jaguar: yes indeed
Dark Jaguar: I got 'em all
A Black Falcon: 6+ certainly
A Black Falcon: 60
A Black Falcon: :D
A Black Falcon: WC3...
Dark Jaguar: and my game works now, surprise surprise
A Black Falcon: they have like five
A Black Falcon: they have a page on the B.Net site for them, BTW
A Black Falcon: let me guess
A Black Falcon: now you must patch it?
Dark Jaguar: Already did
A Black Falcon: cool
Dark Jaguar: I forgot that new games like WC3 let you uninstall and give the option of keeping custom files
Dark Jaguar: So I didn't need to backup teh save files
Dark Jaguar: Very nice
A Black Falcon: yeah...
A Black Falcon: online yet?
Dark Jaguar: will be after testing ONE thing
A Black Falcon: ok
A Black Falcon: what?
Dark Jaguar: just seeing if an actual battle will load
Dark Jaguar: Hey, seems the demo exclusive levels were finally put in here, just never found them :D
Dark Jaguar: Guess they were added with Frozen Throne
A Black Falcon: huh...
A Black Falcon: can i uninstall that then now? :D
Dark Jaguar: yeppers :D
Dark Jaguar: Okay, I'm getting online now
A Black Falcon: good
A Black Falcon: hey, remember our channel name? :D
A Black Falcon: ... hello?
Dark Jaguar: hello
Dark Jaguar: I'm in there
Dark Jaguar: TendoCity, no space
A Black Falcon: ok
A Black Falcon: TFT has even better music than ROC in bnet...
Dark Jaguar: hey
Dark Jaguar: yes, I agree
A Black Falcon: war3 is such a great game...
Dark Jaguar: yes, yes it is
A Black Falcon: i found it tough... but i've got to stick with sc as the better of the two.
Dark Jaguar: And trust me, when you play a Mario KArt game with human beings, you love it.
A Black Falcon: REALLY hard decision though
Dark Jaguar: I went with WC3 myself, after FT it sealed it
A Black Falcon: i have played mario kart 64 multiplay before, a few times
A Black Falcon: i love sci-fi and fantasy...
A Black Falcon: guess i prefer scifi. :)
Dark Jaguar: It's not the theme, I love both high tech spacy stuff and magical natury stuff
Dark Jaguar: Pretty much equally
A Black Falcon: i love both...
Dark Jaguar: That's why I like games that mix them both together
A Black Falcon: and both games have that 'Blizzard magic'
A Black Falcon: but...
A Black Falcon: probably because it was first, but SC is just more special. :)
Dark Jaguar: (Link: http://pocket.ign.com/articles/456/456383p1.html)http://pocket.ign.com/articles/456/456383p1.html
Dark Jaguar: hmm
A Black Falcon: story...
A Black Falcon: both are good.
A Black Falcon: i really don't know
A Black Falcon: if i played war3 first, which i'd like more...
Dark Jaguar: I think I like the more.... focused, battle style...
Dark Jaguar: Anyway
A Black Falcon: focused?
A Black Falcon: as in smaller unit tactics?
Dark Jaguar: yeah
Dark Jaguar: Anyway
A Black Falcon: yeah, that is nice
Dark Jaguar: Super MArio Advance 5
Dark Jaguar: I'm pretty much certain it will exist
Dark Jaguar: And it will be a remake of Super Mario Bros 1, even though it's ALREADY BEEN REMADE on GBC.
A Black Falcon: but which game?
A Black Falcon: hmm...
A Black Falcon: or will they do a version of Yoshi's Story from n64?
Dark Jaguar: That's not Mario at all
A Black Falcon: remake the old GB Mario Land titles??
Dark Jaguar: That's an option
Dark Jaguar: Yes, Yoshi[s Island only has Mario as a secondary character, but he's there the whole time
Dark Jaguar: But Yoshi's Story hasn't a bit of Mario in it
A Black Falcon: sure
A Black Falcon: but its still a mario game... ish..
A Black Falcon: okay its not
Dark Jaguar: :D
A Black Falcon: but mario could call it one anyway.
Dark Jaguar: Now on the other hand, Super Mario Land 3 shouldn't have been called that
Dark Jaguar: We both agree on that
Dark Jaguar: That was basically to sell the game :D
A Black Falcon: mario is in it for five seconds!
A Black Falcon: in the ending.
A Black Falcon: flying in his stupid plane and taking the statue.
Dark Jaguar: To steal Wario's castle, at that
Dark Jaguar: right, statue :D
A Black Falcon: yeah.
A Black Falcon: castle, hmmf
A Black Falcon: in WL3 and 4 he'd only gotten a castle
Dark Jaguar: I loved getting the ultimate realization of Wario's wish
A Black Falcon: poor guy got gypped
Dark Jaguar: a PLANET!
A Black Falcon: yeah, he should have a planet! :)
Dark Jaguar: When ya get all the gold and treasure, that's your reward.
Dark Jaguar: Nothing beats getting a PLANET to call your own
Dark Jaguar: Be it ever so humble :D
Dark Jaguar: I just have a very strong feeling Nintendo is remaking SMB1 for GBA...
A Black Falcon: i bet.
Dark Jaguar: I was pretty much made certain they would eventually do that when Donkey Kong Country was remade AGAIN
A Black Falcon: i also bet
A Black Falcon: they well might not include all the extras from SMBDX.
Dark Jaguar: They already remade it for GBC, but then they remade it again for GBA!
A Black Falcon: i mean...
Dark Jaguar: Nah, the DKC remake had all the extras
A Black Falcon: it'd go against the first five games complete lack of them...
Dark Jaguar: from the first DKC remake I mean
A Black Falcon: huh
A Black Falcon: wait
A Black Falcon: it will not.
A Black Falcon: impossible
A Black Falcon: the GBA doesn't have a IR port. :D
Dark Jaguar: :D
Dark Jaguar: Ever heard ofa link cable?
A Black Falcon: sure
A Black Falcon: but different
A Black Falcon: remember...
A Black Falcon: one of the medals required IR-linking to get.:)
Dark Jaguar: :D
Dark Jaguar: I know, stupid
A Black Falcon: i actually got that one..
Dark Jaguar: I haven't achieved that medal yet
A Black Falcon: a friend had the game
A Black Falcon: and a gbc
Dark Jaguar: But if it's being remade for GBA, they could easily redo that for link cable
A Black Falcon: there was a link badge too.
Dark Jaguar: Or just make it unlocked some other way
A Black Falcon: or remove it?
A Black Falcon: :)
A Black Falcon: oh
A Black Falcon: the ghost race mode was cool
A Black Falcon: so much stuff
Dark Jaguar: Yes
Dark Jaguar: But I never unlocked the very last form of boo on any of the levels
A Black Falcon: Lost Levels, Ghost Race, standard, Challenge...
A Black Falcon: fortune telling. :D
Dark Jaguar: Lost Levels was the only thing I hated
A Black Falcon: uhh
A Black Falcon: really??
Dark Jaguar: Because they RUINED the real thing!
A Black Falcon: but black boos weren't impossible!
A Black Falcon: i got them all
Dark Jaguar: I know
Dark Jaguar: I just never managed it
Dark Jaguar: I'm stuck at red
A Black Falcon: it was hard, but i managed all 8...
A Black Falcon: now challenge mode
A Black Falcon: THAT is impossible
Dark Jaguar: No it's not
Dark Jaguar: I got eVERYTHING in that mode
A Black Falcon: or close enough to make no difference. :)
Dark Jaguar: All the medals for every level
A Black Falcon: some of those score levels are absolutely insane...
Dark Jaguar: HAha, they were hard, but I got them
Dark Jaguar: Not THAT hard though
A Black Falcon: and that score bar at the bottom?
A Black Falcon: oh yes they are.
A Black Falcon: i am missing a lot of those...
A Black Falcon: i got all the yoshi eggs though
Dark Jaguar: Ah yes, that score bar has a higher limit than the score badges themselves total :D
A Black Falcon: yeah
A Black Falcon: i got the yoshis
Dark Jaguar: So you have to get a whole lot of scores HIGHER than what's needed for the score badge
A Black Falcon: red coins...
A Black Falcon: i think i'm close but missing a few
Dark Jaguar: Or just use a turtle shell bounce in this ONE level so you can get infinite points :D
A Black Falcon: score...
A Black Falcon: need a bunch
A Black Falcon: :)
Dark Jaguar: They made it so you can kill the turtle shell with too many bounces to prevent it
Dark Jaguar: So you have to find a place where you can "reset" the counter and start it again
A Black Falcon: true,..
Dark Jaguar: By jumping off and restarting the bounce
Dark Jaguar: ONE level to do that
Dark Jaguar: World 5, level... 3 I think
A Black Falcon: ]or something
A Black Falcon: continues makes taht less useful
Dark Jaguar: not for lives, for that score bar!
Dark Jaguar: You know
A Black Falcon: yeah...
Dark Jaguar: It's annoying, but true. Nintendo WILL make an Advance remake of SMB1
A Black Falcon: but you still need to meet all those really hard score challenge limits
Dark Jaguar: And then they will put ALL the advance games in one collection with some more extras
A Black Falcon: with the SNES graphics.
A Black Falcon: and everything from the GBC if we're lucky.
A Black Falcon: and that idiotic Super Mario Bros.
Dark Jaguar: Super Mario Bros?
A Black Falcon: (though I bet on them removing stuff...
Dark Jaguar: Idiotic?
A Black Falcon: er
A Black Falcon: Mario Bros.
Dark Jaguar: ah
A Black Falcon: namely, the multiplayer stuff.)
Dark Jaguar: Yes, but they need to put a REAL Mario Bros in there
Dark Jaguar: The one they put in uses SMB2 physics
Dark Jaguar: And has two pow blocks
Dark Jaguar: Oh, back to "For Super PLayers"
Dark Jaguar: That was "Lost LEvels", but they made it too easy
A Black Falcon: fill it in
Dark Jaguar: I mean, I flew through it
A Black Falcon: replace all the missing levels
A Black Falcon: easy??
Dark Jaguar: not just that
A Black Falcon: no, it was quite hard!
Dark Jaguar: Yeah, but after playing the real thing, that was cake
A Black Falcon: not as hard as the original Lost Levels...
A Black Falcon: but very hard
Dark Jaguar: Because they removed the major challenges
Dark Jaguar: They took out wind
A Black Falcon: i would love to see the other four levels replaced though
Dark Jaguar: And shortened some of the very hard jumps
A Black Falcon: true
A Black Falcon: for good reasons
Dark Jaguar: For instance, some required bouncing off flying enemies just right
A Black Falcon: they wanted fewer blind jumps...
A Black Falcon: and the GBC has a smaller screen
Dark Jaguar: Yes, indeed
Dark Jaguar: Fortunatly, no reason to do that in GBA
Dark Jaguar: Anyway
Dark Jaguar: As you know
Dark Jaguar: They also took out 9 worlds!
Dark Jaguar: no
A Black Falcon: 9?
Dark Jaguar: Not 9
A Black Falcon: 4!
Dark Jaguar: 5
A Black Falcon: A B C D... E?
Dark Jaguar: no
Dark Jaguar: 9th world too
A Black Falcon: 9 A B C D
A Black Falcon: ok
A Black Falcon: see
Dark Jaguar: 9th world could only be reached if you didn't use any warp pipes
A Black Falcon: not so much for the other games, but the original SMB...
A Black Falcon: I like the original graphics! :)
Dark Jaguar: Heh, they are cute
Dark Jaguar: retro
Dark Jaguar: classic
A Black Falcon: yes
Dark Jaguar: But so far none of the remakes have included a retro grpahical mode
Dark Jaguar: (Link: http://pocket.ign.com/articles/456/456531p1.html)http://pocket.ign.com/articles/456/456531p1.html
Dark Jaguar: And my fears are confirmed :D
A Black Falcon: er
A Black Falcon: not exactly. :)
Dark Jaguar: not exactly
Dark Jaguar: But I highly doubt it's just a card in that cartridge sized box
A Black Falcon: who knows...
Dark Jaguar: IT MAY be a cart containing SMB
Dark Jaguar: But why?
Dark Jaguar: They could just pack in the GBC game
Dark Jaguar: I mean classic style SMB of course when I said that above
Dark Jaguar: But it's far more likley to be a full remake, one they will announce with this special system, and then release to the public
A Black Falcon: nintendo is annoying
A Black Falcon: i mean...
Dark Jaguar: Thus, the Advance Mario Series will be TOTALLY out of order
A Black Falcon: it'd be seemingly easy to include the original graphics too
A Black Falcon: :(
Dark Jaguar: Yeah, you'd think
Dark Jaguar: Well, I do believe that the idea of them including a retro graphics mode on this last one is likely with the general Famicom look (gold and red, I likey)
Dark Jaguar: But, that assumes Nintendo made sense
A Black Falcon: theyy don't
Dark Jaguar: And I think IGN is just offering the possibility it's something else so they don't risk getting "proven wrong", I see no chance that it'll be anything but Super Mario Advance 5: Super Mario Bros DX
Dark Jaguar: Maybe without the DX, like you said though
Dark Jaguar: Mario Bros 2, Mario World, Mario World 2, Mario Bros 3, Mario Bros 1
Dark Jaguar: That's just WAY too out of order
A Black Falcon: :D
Dark Jaguar: Followed by Super MArio Land 2, Super MArio Land 1
A Black Falcon: yeah!
Dark Jaguar: And Super Mario Land 3, just to make no sense
A Black Falcon: and finally...
A Black Falcon: Super Mario Advance 9: Wario Land 3
A Black Falcon: :D
Dark Jaguar: Finish it up with Yoshi's STory, and finally Super Mario Advance (insert number here): Metroid 2: Return of Samus
A Black Falcon: also we need Yoshi's Story
A Black Falcon: 10
A Black Falcon: hahaah
A Black Falcon: Metroid 2...
A Black Falcon: :D
A Black Falcon: nonono
Dark Jaguar: With hidden Yoshi eggs and red coins while Metroid hunting :D
A Black Falcon: Super Mario Advance 11: MARIO CLASH!!!!!
A Black Falcon: you know the game, right?
Dark Jaguar: Yes
A Black Falcon: :)
Dark Jaguar: That game for Virtual Boy
A Black Falcon: yup
Dark Jaguar: Never played it
A Black Falcon: it was Mario Bros...
A Black Falcon: essentially
Dark Jaguar: Though I have a Virtual Boy
A Black Falcon: Mario Bros.
Dark Jaguar: But in 3d
A Black Falcon: 2 level playfield
Dark Jaguar: heh
A Black Falcon: one in front another in abck
A Black Falcon: back
Dark Jaguar: The same psuedo 3D that Wario Land VB had
A Black Falcon: pretty much
A Black Falcon: now that was a bad system
Dark Jaguar: Odd that a system with a 3D display had so much fake 3D gameplay
Dark Jaguar: Well, Red Alert was true 3D
A Black Falcon: yeah
A Black Falcon: Alarm
A Black Falcon: Red Alarm
Dark Jaguar: Yeah, alarm
Dark Jaguar: alert is something else
A Black Falcon: Red Alert is a RTS...
A Black Falcon: Command & Conquer
Dark Jaguar: yes :D
A Black Falcon: i have Red Alert 2...
A Black Falcon: i do not have a Virtual Boy.
A Black Falcon: (nor do I especially want one)
Dark Jaguar: Ya know, the thing about those Super Mario all-stars remakes is since it was later in the SNES life, they actually looked better than Super Mario World
A Black Falcon: I do have most the Nintendo power issues from the thing's whole lifespan.
A Black Falcon: given that i have two years of NP...
A Black Falcon: it is sad. :)
A Black Falcon: the one that introduced it came with 3d glasses...
Dark Jaguar: A lot more paralax scrolling usage
A Black Falcon: and had some 3d images. :D
Dark Jaguar: heh
A Black Falcon: you know, those paper glasses...
Dark Jaguar: I remember one that had stereograms
Dark Jaguar: Back when those were popular
A Black Falcon: it has virtual boy on the cover and came with the glasses
A Black Falcon: i also remember previews of never-released games...
Dark Jaguar: I managed to see them, but stereograms ALWAYS look like they are punched INTO the page rather than sticking out
A Black Falcon: unless Dragon Hopper, Bound High, or that racing game (Zero Racers or something?) came out. :D
A Black Falcon: 'stereograms'?
A Black Falcon: are those those magic picture things?
Dark Jaguar: They were these big splashes of color, or so they seemed
A Black Falcon: like lots of squares that make up a nothing image
A Black Falcon: and if you look from the right distance it supposedly appears?
A Black Falcon: or cross your eyes or something
Dark Jaguar: but if you crossed your eyes until 2 dots under the image formed 3 (the two extra ones from crossing meshing together), and looked, you would see an image
A Black Falcon: never did manage to see those things
Dark Jaguar: Oh, you just have to do it right
A Black Falcon: i tried...
Dark Jaguar: It took me a few days to get them to work right
A Black Falcon: i have a poster
A Black Falcon: from Nintendo
Dark Jaguar: You have to basically keep the eyes just right
Dark Jaguar: and move the page down
A Black Falcon: years back...
A Black Falcon: Nintendo had this contest...
Dark Jaguar: While not using your eyes at all, until the image pops out
A Black Falcon: SNES
Dark Jaguar: And then,
Dark Jaguar: You'll see it
A Black Falcon: i competed (at Lechmere... a chain now dead...) and did really bad, but everyone got this Samus magic picture poster thing
A Black Falcon: well
Dark Jaguar: But for me, the image didn't look like it was bumping out of the page, but rahter like the field it was in was lifted up and the thing in it was imprinted into it
A Black Falcon: i assume its Samus
A Black Falcon: never managed to see it myself. :)
Dark Jaguar: Most see it as a bump out of the page
Dark Jaguar: Then agian, you know that supposed trick where they take a hollow face that actually goes in and you see it and you are supposed to see it following you, and to you it's supposed to look like it's stickingout like a normal head
Dark Jaguar: Untiol you reach your hand in and fine it's the reverse?
A Black Falcon: ?
Dark Jaguar: IT's another illusion
A Black Falcon: no, don't know it
Dark Jaguar: It's this head, and it's caved in instead of a real one that comes OUT
Dark Jaguar: Like looking into a mask
Dark Jaguar: apparently, people are SUPPOSED to see it as sticking out because that is what their brain expects
Dark Jaguar: And because of that, as they walk around it seems like the face is following their movements
A Black Falcon: uh
Dark Jaguar: until they reach into it and find it's actually caved in
A Black Falcon: whatever...
A Black Falcon: *is confused*
Dark Jaguar: It's a popular illusion
Dark Jaguar: But it has never worked on me
Dark Jaguar: I always see it for what it is, a caved in face
A Black Falcon: how about paintings where the eyes follow you?
A Black Falcon: :)
Dark Jaguar: You mean because there are people spying on you?
A Black Falcon: er, no.. :)
Dark Jaguar: Um, what then?
A Black Falcon: you know...
A Black Falcon: paintings
Dark Jaguar: I only get this image of scooby doo or some sort of "Clue" scenario
A Black Falcon: some have eyes that supposedly follow you across a room...
A Black Falcon: huh
A Black Falcon: never heard of that?
Dark Jaguar: Yes, but in the way of the eyes being cut out
Dark Jaguar: So that the butler can stare at you
A Black Falcon: well that too... :)
Dark Jaguar: MEainwhile, the maid poisons my tea, and I am later found stuffed and put on display in some bizaare trophy room
Dark Jaguar: I hate it when that happens
A Black Falcon: :)
A Black Falcon: but there are real paintings that supposedly do that.
Dark Jaguar: You mean the eyes aren't holes but still seem to follow you?
Dark Jaguar: Ah yes, that's because of how they are drawn
Dark Jaguar: Yes, I've heard
Dark Jaguar: They are drawn so they stare directly at someone
A Black Falcon: kind of strange
Dark Jaguar: And since moving around a 2D image won't alter it
Dark Jaguar: It'll ALWAYS seem to be looking directly at you
Dark Jaguar: If it was the SAME image, but in 3d, it would be different.
Dark Jaguar: Just a result of limited dimensions really
A Black Falcon: a 3d painting would be tough to draw. :)
Dark Jaguar: I mean, like modelled, or a hologram
A Black Falcon: yeah...
A Black Falcon: holograms!
A Black Falcon: all we need are force-fields and we can have a holodeck. :D
Dark Jaguar: heh
Dark Jaguar: But I don't want one
Dark Jaguar: Not only that, all I'd feel is force, not texture
Dark Jaguar: Like when you stick your hand out the window of a moving car and cup your hand so you can have that ball of air
A Black Falcon: yeah yeah
A Black Falcon: they will...
A Black Falcon: get around it somehow. :)
Dark Jaguar: :D
Dark Jaguar: I just want the direct brain connection
Dark Jaguar: MUCH more interaction
Dark Jaguar: And I wouldn't have to be a human
Dark Jaguar: Or have limited human abilities
A Black Falcon: to what?
Dark Jaguar: Or die because of a clipping error with HOLOGRAMS
Dark Jaguar: That would be PAINFUL
A Black Falcon: but there are safeties!
Dark Jaguar: Right, in Star Trek
Dark Jaguar: But you've played 3D games
Dark Jaguar: Not that perfect
Dark Jaguar: Remember, Star Trek assumes by then humans got over their three major driving forces
Dark Jaguar: Stupidity, greediness, horniness.
Dark Jaguar: That's humanity
A Black Falcon: heh
Dark Jaguar: Pets 1-up humans because they only have 2, if you neuter them
A Black Falcon: jaggies: now deadly!
A Black Falcon: :D
Dark Jaguar: I mean, you can neuter your friends, but it'll be a tough job draggin them to the vet and they probalby wont' speak to you the WHOLE ride home
Dark Jaguar: You'll probably have to buy them icecream or something afterwards too
A Black Falcon: i like our cats...
Dark Jaguar: I like my cats too
A Black Falcon: (Link: http://www.n-philes.com/php/epyzpffflfyazluepay.php)http://www.n-philes.com/php/epyzpffflfyazluepay.php
A Black Falcon: Bad Company Buys Worse One! Read all about it! :D
Dark Jaguar: okay
A Black Falcon: TDK Mediaactive...
A Black Falcon: aren't they like one of the worst publishers since Wizard Works (Deer Hunter)?
A Black Falcon: :)
Dark Jaguar: ahah
Dark Jaguar: I can't think of a single game by them
A Black Falcon: Shrek
Dark Jaguar: because that name doesn't ring a bell
A Black Falcon: all hte Shrek games
Dark Jaguar: Oh, one of THOSE kinds of game
A Black Falcon: yes.
Dark Jaguar: The game-based-on-current-popular-cartoon
A Black Falcon: ABYSMAL liscenced trash
Dark Jaguar: indeed
A Black Falcon: not just based on a cartoon
A Black Falcon: but a BAD game based on a cartoon.
A Black Falcon: all the Shrek games by them are awful...
Dark Jaguar: As of late,I haven't played a single good one based on a cartoon
A Black Falcon: which is too bad, since Shrek was a great movie
Dark Jaguar: yes, it was
A Black Falcon: the last good one...
A Black Falcon: uhh
A Black Falcon: nothing really stands out
A Black Falcon: the new TMNT game? heard its average.,..
Dark Jaguar: hmm
Dark Jaguar: Celeborn Pointears the Real Live Elf
A Black Falcon: those Capcom games on the SNES... :D
Dark Jaguar: Cute name
A Black Falcon: ?
A Black Falcon: oh great
A Black Falcon: back to the 'name of the day' are we?
Dark Jaguar: :D
Dark Jaguar: Nah, noticedit
Dark Jaguar: Plus, others are coming up with cool Lord of the Rings names
Dark Jaguar: Well, ONE person
Dark Jaguar: The One Girl To Rule Them All
A Black Falcon: that's a good LOTR name? erm...
A Black Falcon: oh
A Black Falcon: That's Mapel. :)
Dark Jaguar: Yes, yes it is
Dark Jaguar: Ruling all humanity, without me?
Dark Jaguar: Not very nice
A Black Falcon: she doesn't talk much... once in a while, though
Dark Jaguar: And in the Darkness... Bind them
A Black Falcon: great movies
Dark Jaguar: They are good movies, that they are
A Black Falcon: my favorites in years...
Dark Jaguar: EVeryone in Tolkein's books have like 5 different names
Dark Jaguar: Gandalf, known as "the grey", known as Mithrandir, also known as
A Black Falcon: true
Dark Jaguar: But now he's the white
Dark Jaguar: And poor Sauroman, who became Sauroman of the many colors
Dark Jaguar: Sadly, in his attempt to reach enlightenment, he split the pure mixing of all colors, white, and now lords over seperation
A Black Falcon: and became Saruman the Evil? :)
Dark Jaguar: he became that for certain when he divided his pure light into the many colors
Dark Jaguar: A part not exactly stated in the movies
Dark Jaguar: THey could have had some cool special effects to reflect how his cloak shifted like a rainbow
Dark Jaguar: Just like in the book
Dark Jaguar: But oh well, that wizard battle was cool
A Black Falcon: they can't have everything...
A Black Falcon: you can't take books that long and make them into three hour movies. :)
Dark Jaguar: heh :D
A Black Falcon: it'd take four, or five hours per movie to do that. :)
Dark Jaguar: yeah
A Black Falcon: the only movie I can think of that managed to include pretty much everything of importance from a book...
A Black Falcon: Gettysburg.
Dark Jaguar: However, one thing I didn't like was the handling of King Theoden
A Black Falcon: and that was a four hour movie of a 250 page paperback.
Dark Jaguar: They made him literally possessed by Sauroman
Dark Jaguar: He wasn't ACTUALLY possessed
Dark Jaguar: He was decieved, and made complacent
Dark Jaguar: And he wasn't THAT totally dead on the throne
A Black Falcon: all kinds of stuff was changed...
Dark Jaguar: Plus, his recovery wasn't so drastic
Dark Jaguar: He was still clearly old in the book, but had pep
Dark Jaguar: And color
Dark Jaguar: yeah
Dark Jaguar: Some of it for the worse, but in general the movies are still the best I've seen in a long while
Dark Jaguar: Ever noticea lot of people in some chat rooms with 5 digit numbers in their names tend to be using their own zip code?
Dark Jaguar: IT's fun to make them think they are being stalked by saying "so how's like in Sandiego?"
Dark Jaguar: You know, I think if Link ever gets some method of flight, it should be a PEgasus he uses :D. That would be SO cool!
A Black Falcon: that would be awesome
A Black Falcon: Pegasus is cool. :)
Dark Jaguar: yeah
Dark Jaguar: Plus, Pegasus is mentioned througout Zelda anyway
Dark Jaguar: Those Pegasus boots, the seeds
A Black Falcon: true
A Black Falcon: but not for flying
A Black Falcon: Pegasus boots just run
A Black Falcon: Roc flies
Dark Jaguar: Unless you use the Roc's Feather WITH the boots
A Black Falcon: Roc's Feather
A Black Falcon: super long jump. :)
A Black Falcon: LA has a great items system...
A Black Falcon: and no i haven't noticed that thing with zip codes.
A Black Falcon: Almost all of Maine, BTW, is 04xxx. :)
Dark Jaguar: ah
Dark Jaguar: ANyway, I just thought that if in any future Zelda game the ability to fly around the world is added, they should have that
Dark Jaguar: Wow, that would be cool... *drools*
A Black Falcon: ooh
A Black Falcon: flying...
A Black Falcon: zelda...
A Black Falcon: yes.
A Black Falcon: that would be very cool.
Dark Jaguar: IT would have to be put in at the end
Dark Jaguar: Otherwise, it would make it too easy I imagine to get too many powerups at that point
A Black Falcon: true...
A Black Falcon: but still
A Black Falcon: it'd be really awesome if done well
Dark Jaguar: yes it would
Dark Jaguar: I'd love to see it
Dark Jaguar: Perhaps the "hero of nature" could have that as something
A Black Falcon: especially if you can fly all over and not just in each zone...
A Black Falcon: more than the flying rooster in LA. :)
A Black Falcon: that had ... limited ... flight
Dark Jaguar: heh
Dark Jaguar: ACtually, you could fly with it all over if you wanted, but only until you did the task it was there for
A Black Falcon: only over holes. :(
A Black Falcon: only on that screen too
Dark Jaguar: I could use it to fly anywhere
Dark Jaguar: And DID
A Black Falcon: had to not over anything bigger than holes in the groun...
A Black Falcon: d
A Black Falcon: not like over cliffs, or rocks... :)
Dark Jaguar: For a special secret shell that needed it near Richards's castle for instance
Dark Jaguar: Ah, I see
Dark Jaguar: You mean it can't TRULY fly over everything
Dark Jaguar: yeah
A Black Falcon: its just a hovering skill really
Dark Jaguar: I know what you mean, truly skybound
Dark Jaguar: Yeah, I'd love to look down over the forests before going straight into the clouds for fun, and suddenly finding the Sky Palace
A Black Falcon: :)
Dark Jaguar: Well, I think I'll be going now
Dark Jaguar: Talk to ya later
A Black Falcon: okay
A Black Falcon: it is late...
Dark Jaguar: yeah,
Dark Jaguar: well, bye
