Racist Kramer?
I'm sure most of you have seen this already but if you haven't...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?search...d&v=kvQq0HQ45Q4 What the fuck?? I'm not sure if I'll be able to laugh at Kramer anymore, even after his public apology on Letterman. Maybe if he apologized personally to the guy he was insulting.... Still, definetly hard to look at him the same. Last edited by Fittisize : Mon, November 20th, 2006 at 09:34 PM. |

The worst part is just how completely unfunny his tirade was.
I always looked at him as an poor comedian that starred in a boring sitcom. This does little to change that.

Pretty harsh words there about Seinfeld Ryan. That's my #2 favorite comedy behind Arrested Development. Still, nothing makes up for what he said. I had always heard Michael Richards was kind of a jerk, and this kind of amplifies that.

Words like nigger or spic, kike whatever are a part of comedy you cant ignore, being able to make fun of yourself or others is the meat of comedy. I cant believe people are trying to get comedians censored. If Richards used this in part of his act he would be 'contraversial' but he just out-right slammed a guy with (surprisingly) unfunny racist comments.
I understand hecklers are a pain in the ass but a good comedian puts them in their place with something funny. Robin Williams would actually go down in to the audience and find the heckler and bring him on stage and roll with the punches. Not verbally assault someone with no punchline. Plain retarded. |

That is weird that you like Curb but don't like Seinfeld. It's pretty much the same show except Curb is more of a sketch show format than Seinfeld.

I think it's because of all the profanity.
And, Larry David is just funnier than anyone that starred in his brainchild.

Larry David is pretty funny. I heard that when he did standup he would insult the audience if they didn't laugh at his jokes. One time he said, "Fuck this. I don't need your fucking approval," and walked off the stage. Jason Alexander pretty much played David in Seinfeld, though, as George Costanza was based on David. Alexander was definitely the best actor of the bunch, and I think he was the funniest too. He is good at playing a neurotic, while David doesn't have to act at all to be neurotic.

That made so little sense I had to look up WTF again on wikipedia because its meaning as well, of five years of accumulated knowledge brain-farted out of my head and was replaced by DJ picture (and midget porn). Additionally I suffered so much massive trauma trying to comprehend the meaning of DJ picture and It's relevance to this thread, that I think I managed to crap a fully clothed chinchilla in the process.

Before you judge Michael, watch this too.
Watch the video, he's not acting, he's genuinely sorry. According to what I've read, a couple of men of...darkened complexion spent a good 20 minutes heckling Richards. Interrupting and ruining his act for no reason. He tried to poke fun at the guys and work with it as best he could but eventually it got the better of him. Does that redeem his actions? Not one bit. But knowing both sides of the story can help you draw your own conclusions about what happened that night.

Oh, wait, you're not an Arrested Development fan. Derek and GR will get it.

So wait, if I were an AD fan, his apology wouldn't have bored me to tears? Was there some kind of ultra-subtle humor underneath the staggered, stumbling MY BAD oratory there?
If so, sorry, I don't get it.

I thought the video (which I only just now saw but have previously heard about) would be funny, but watching him snap like that was just painful. I love how that one audience member pwn3d him though, pointing out what a wash-up he is. He's probably going to do like Mel Gibson and make some sort of excuse for his behavior. "I'm an alcoholic and it makes me say and do things I don't really mean." Yeah right...

Well, I watched the video from Letterman and he certainly looks shaken up about it, and I'm glad he doesn't really try to use an excuse. Still, I don't think we're going to see Kramer doing much anymore, even though we hadn't seen him doing much anyway since Seinfeld ended.

This is how you deal with a heckler:
Another one |
|

Dammit I was only one click away from posting those two videos but I decided not to. Like a week ago.
At my first trip to a comedy club, the stand-up dealt with a heckler in much the same way that Hicks did in the second video. By 'much the same way' I mean that he basically repeated exactly what Bill Hicks said - extreme usage of the word 'cunt' and all. Had I been drunker I probably would have shouted something along the lines of GET YOUR OWN DAMN MATERIAL YOU FUCKING HACK but I was a coward. |
|
Thu, November 30th, 2006 | #24 |
So you would have heckled the comic who was yelling at a heckler?
... I don't see the point. In fact I don't see the point in heckling at all. It's disruptive, it ruins the experience for those truly enjoying the show, and it makes you look like an ass. If you don't like the material, then leave. Otherwise, just enjoy the damn show. He or she is trying to make a living just like you and I do.

If the comic isn't funny and is clearly ripping off legends because his own material just can't cut it, then I consider it a civic duty to let everybody know how shitty he is.

Hahaha, awesome. I played those two exact same clips (albiet in audio form) plus another one for my friend after he played me the Kramer clip. I didn't know there were fellow Hicks fans here. YA HICKS REPRESENT YO
Funny that his name is "Hicks", when a good portion of his material is about how much he hates hillbillies and the south.

Nowadays you see any black comedian like Chris Rock and jokes about "Niggers" is commonly part of his routine.I guess the freedom of being a black comedian, Its like the dude on CNN said had a black comic shouted the same shit as kramer at hecklers nobody would care.
The problem is that word is to overused and used by rappers comics ect... People hear it and become comfortable with it and forget that alot are still offended by it. |

Look if you want to let everyone know you don't think the comic is funny, then vote with your feat and leave. Don't be an arse.
Your consideration of civic duty is WRONG. Change it.
